Korean Drama Update for October 2025

I watched the supernatural romantic comedy Head Over Heels, the moody suspense drama Anna, and the office romantic comedy My Dearest Nemesis in the month of October. Here’s how it went:

Head Over Heels

Head Over Heels was a cute and fun drama. It had a nice mix of of romance, humor, and supernatural elements. It only took an episode to settle in for me, and then it was a pretty good watch from there.

The pacing was decent as was the story. The romance was very sweet with with an adorable couple at the center. There were also some very nice character journeys of growth. Despite the second half being a bit lackluster, it was still mostly enjoyable. (Head Over Heels Review)

Anna

I would describe Anna as moody and somber with a slow build-up of tension as the drama progresses. The show spends a lot of time slowly moving through each scene as we follow Anna. This is where things felt a little slow for me at times, but this is also what builds tension over time. The suspense elements of the drama definitely pick up in the latter episodes.

Overall, Anna was a decent watch. Not being a preferred genre of mine did make it feel a little too slow and moody, but it had enough good elements that I liked it for the most part. And Suzy’s performance was well worth the watch as she completely carries this drama and delivers a captivating and subtly nuanced performance for what I would consider a challenging character. (Anna Review)

My Dearest Nemesis

My Dearest Nemesis is such a cute and fun drama! It’s a fairly straightforward office romantic comedy with relationship issues and a family villain that creates tension, but it executes everything so well that it was thoroughly enjoyable. I loved the humor in this series. I’m fairly particular when it comes to comedy, but this show had just the right style of quirky and fun that worked for me.

Twelve episodes was a great length for the drama which allowed for consistent plot developments and a good pace. The characters are also a lot of fun, and the drama has plenty of heart. It’s an easy watch that’s mostly light with just a dash of angst. Overall, I had a lovely time with this one. (My Dearest Nemesis Review)

Happy drama watching to everyone!

I finished Genie Make a Wish which despite everyone’s criticisms about it’s flaws, I absolutely enjoyed. Yes, it’s full of flaws, but I needed my happy ever after for the Uncontrollably Fond couple after all these years and that’s what I got 🙂

Also finally finished the loooong What Happens to My Family. The first half was fairly bingeable but as the series progressed it became more and more difficult to get in the mood to watch as I started disliking every character for one reason or another. Only Nam Ji Hyun and Kim San Kyung’s characters remained likeable throughout. And about 3 episodes from the end the series disappeared from Viki so I had to find the final episode on YouTube to finish the darn thing.

Seems Kocowa content on Viki is systematically disappearing so I suspect I might need yet ANOTHER streaming service to watch stuff. This is getting ridiculous – Viki, Netflix, Disney+/Hulu, Prime, and now Kocowa – UGH!!

Yay that you liked Genie, Make a Wish! I’m so looking forward to checking it out for our Uncontrollably Fond reunion too!

And congrats on finishing such a long drama. It sounds like you had to work for it though! lol 😅

Yeah, the streaming situation is ridiculous. It’s hard to believe how spread out the dramas are now. I miss the days of just DramaFever and Viki as the main services.
