October was a wonderful month when it comes to kdramas! I watched an exciting new drama, an amazing love story, and a classic sageuk. So in the end, I completed three dramas this month, one currently/recently aired and two classics:
Yong Pal
Yong Pal was a fun drama that I found to be a nice change of pace from what else is out there. If you don’t think to hard about some of the events that occur, the story is compelling with a great pace. All in all, Yong Pal felt fresh with a fairly unique story. Joo Won was brilliant as usual. It had some action, melodrama, romance, and a bit of humor. The episodes flew by, and I was quite sad to see it end. (Yong Pal Review)
Love Rain
I completely fell in love with Love Rain! It swept me into its little world, and I didn’t want to leave. This romantic melodrama featured an epic star crossed lovers theme with music and cinematography that was gorgeous all the way through. I was so in tune with each of the characters and fully involved in their amazing love stories. There are lots of cliches and lack of communication between the characters, but I enjoyed every minute. This drama just made me happy, plain and simple. I wish I would have watched it sooner. (Love Rain Review)
Tree With Deep Roots
Although it certainly had some wonderful moments, Tree With Deep Roots wasn’t quite to my tastes. It was a bit heavy on the conspiracy which made it feel a bit draggy, especially through the middle. Despite that, even I could see what a marvelous drama it is. It is wonderfully written, brilliantly acted, and beautifully shot. Jang Hyuk is phenomenal as usual. So if you love sageuks with conspiracies and political intrigue, definitely check this one out. (Tree With Deeps Roots Review)
So those are my accomplishments for the month. How was October for you?
For the month of November, I hope to complete She Was Pretty, A Man’s Story, and Beethoven Virus.
Happy drama watching to everyone!
