2025 has arrived! Happy New Year to everyone! I hope we can all start the new year off right with lots of great dramas to add to add to our lists. Let’s see what we have to look forward to in this January 2025 edition of “Korean Dramas You Need to Be Watching.”
This monthly series is meant to keep you updated on what’s happening in that amazing world of Korean dramas so that you don’t miss out on anything! Here are the kdramas you should keep an eye out for in January 2025:

1. When the Stars Gossip
When the Stars Gossip is a space-themed romantic comedy set on a space station about an astronaut (Gong Hyo Jin) and an OBGYN space tourist (Lee Min Ho) with a secret.
When the Stars Gossip is scheduled to premiere January 4 on tvN.

2. Motel California
Motel California is a romance about an interior designer (Lee Se Young) who grew up living at a rural motel but eventually left to go Seoul. 12 years later, she returns and is reunited with her first love who is now a popular veterinarian (Na In Woo) fending off marriage proposals.
Motel California is scheduled to premiere January 10 on MBC.
3. Love Scout
Love Scout is a romantic comedy about the CEO of a headhunting company (Han Ji Min) who is amazing at her job but bad at everything else and a single father who becomes her secretary (Lee Joon Hyuk).
Love Scout is scheduled to premiere January 3 on SBS.
4. The Queen Who Crowns
The Queen Who Crowns is about a woman (Cha Joo Young) who who works to help her husband, Lee Bang Won (Lee Hyun Wook), become the king and create a new regime. But he then takes on a lot of concubines which puts the couple at odds, and he tries to keep the queen in check.
The Queen Who Crowns is scheduled to premiere January 6 on TVING.
5. Study Group
Study Group is set at one of the worst high schools where a student (Hwang Min Hyun) studies hard but struggles to do well and is only good at fighting. He joins a study group for college entrance exams and ends up defending a friend who is getting bullied using his skills.
Study Group is scheduled to premiere January 23 on TVING.
6. The Good Man
The Good Man is about the oldest grandson (Lee Dong Wook) in a family of “good-for-nothing” gangsters as he experiences the joys and hardships of life.
The Good Man is scheduled to premiere in January on JTBC.
7. Unmasked
Unmasked is a mystery comedy following the story of the team leader (Kim Hye Soo) of Korea’s first Investigative Journalism Bureau of a broadcasting company as she works to save a program.
Unmasked is scheduled to premiere January 15 on Disney+.
CURRENTLY AIRING IN JANUARY:
8. Check In Hanyang
Check in Hanyang is a historical romance that follows the story of a woman (Kim Ji Eun) and three men (Bae In Hyuk, Jung Gun Joo, Park Jae Chan) who work at the biggest inn in Joseon.
Check in Hanyang airs Saturday and Sunday on Channel A.
9. Sorry Not Sorry
Sorry Not Sorry is about a woman (Jun So Min) in debt trying to pay off her new home after her engagement is suddenly broken off, and she finds herself in a new town working part-time jobs.
Sorry Not Sorry airs Thursday on KBS.
10. Namib (The Starry Night)
Namib is about the CEO of an entertainment agency (Go Hyun Jung) who approaches a trainee (Ryeoun) with bad motives but then ends up helping him achieve his dreams.
Namib airs Monday and Tuesday on ENA.

The Tale of Lady Ok
The Tale of Lady Ok is a historical about a slave (Im Ji Yeon) who survives by faking her name, status, and everything about her life to become a legal expert.
The Tale of Lady Ok airs Saturday and Sunday on JTBC.
When the Phone Rings
When the Phone Rings follows the romance of the youngest spokesperson of the Blue House (Yoo Yeon Seok) after he gets a call that his wife (Chae Soo Bin) who is a sign language interpreter with aphasia has been kidnapped.
When the Phone Rings airs Friday and Saturday on MBC.
Iron Family
Iron Family is about a family that has run a laundry business for generations that suddenly comes into money which allows them to pursue their dreams. Starring Kim Jung Hyun, Geum Sae Rok, Choi Tae Joon, Sungyeol
Iron Family airs Saturday and Sunday on KBS.
