Korean Drama Update for July 2024

I watched the popular melodrama Queen of Tears for the month of July which was certainly an interesting one. Here’s how it went:

Queen of Tears

The hit drama Queen of Tears was a good watch that I mostly enjoyed. The production value was high with a solid story throughout. We have a big romance with Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won that chronicles their difficulties with a bit of humor and some melodrama. They are engaging with a very strong, independent woman in a Hae In and a dedicated, loving, and swoony man in Hyun Woo.

It had some issues for me such as being a slow burn, many of the characters were not that likable, and the episodes were too long. But despite its issues, there’s a lot to see with this one, so you’ll just have to check it out too see what all of the hype is about. Overall, Queen of Tears was a fun watch. So how was July for you?

Happy drama watching to everyone!

I also finished Come and Hug Me last night. The plot set up required some suspension of disbelief, but the emotional moments were impactful and well- acted.

Definitely some suspension of disbelief needed, but yes, this drama really packs an emotional punch. I really enjoyed it 🙂

Can’t remember the last time I had a month where I didn’t finish a drama. I re-watched Healer and Suspicious Partner and am almost finished with Ms Night and Day, Red Swan and My Sweet Mobster but it’s been a long, uneventful kdrama July *sigh*.

Aww, that’s too bad. Bad drama months are never good. At least you had a couple of fun classics to throw in the mix. I hope your August is much better!
