Korean Drama Update for May 2022

Put Your Head on My Shoulder Chinese Drama - Lin Yi and Xing Fei

My drama update for May actually includes a Chinese drama for a change. I had a good run with the popular 2019 series Put Your Head on My Shoulder:

Put Your Head on My Shoulder Chinese Drama - Lin Yi and Xing FeiPut Your Head on My Shoulder

Put Your Head on My Shoulder is a very simple and fluffy rom-com with a pretty basic romance story at its center. It’s cute as we watch Si Tu Mo and Gu Wei Yi in their day to day lives at school and in the dorms. Then the two end up living together and we get classic cohabitation fun and hijinks.

It’s a light and easy to watch with things mostly staying on the fluffy side though there are a handful of angsty moments. There is definitely a lot of filler and times where it doesn’t feel like a lot is happening. But the light and airy nature of the show still made it pleasant enough to watch during these times. Though it has a nice helping of classic tropes and cliches, overall, Put Your Head on My Shoulder is a laid back series with romance, humor, and college life. (Put Your Head on My Shoulder Review)

    Still not watching much of anything except for couple of rewatches, Heard it Through the Grapevine and Of Monks and Masters – both still as good as ever. Even these don’t have a regular schedule though.

      It’s always good re-watching favorites though. You always know you’ll enjoy it when you do get the chance to sit down to watch 🙂

    Hi Kay – I didn’t watch anything in April and so to make up for it, I watched 6 in May. 🙂 I enjoyed them all.
    Here is what I watched:
    * Business Proposal
    * F4 Thailand
    * Rookie Cops – this was enjoyable unexpectedly.
    * Soundtrack #1
    * Legally Romance (CDrama)
    * I need romance (Thai)

    My drama update for May 2022

    I finished 2 dramas:
    Through the Darkness – very disturbing, but never gratuitous. Kim Nam Gil delivers restrained but intense performance as a criminal profiler. The character actors playing serial killers deserve a special mention.

    My Liberation Notes – not as focused as My Mister, but still an absorbing watch. Excellent acting by the entire cast, especially Lee Min Ki and Son Seok Gu.

      It’s great you got in a couple of good ones for the month. Very different from each other too. Lots of great actors spread throughout those two dramas 🙂

    Finished 2 dramas – Crazy Love and Abyss.

    Crazy Love seemed to start out as a dark romantic comedy but turned into something fairly traditional. I enjoyed it more when it settled into what I like but the almost dropped it after the first few episodes because it seemed so dark and uneven. Glad I stuck with it.

    Abyss was okay. The murder mystery-crime drama was fine but it’s not why I watch kdramas and that took up the majority of the series. Would have liked to see more romance but it is what it is.

      It’s always nice when a drama surprises you and gets better after the start. Sometimes more traditional is the way to go. It just works, lol.

      Yep, Abyss was just okay for me too. It had some good points as well as some not so good. Like you said, it is what it is 🙂
