Navillera Korean Drama - Park In Hwan and Song Kang

I got in another two dramas for June, and they were both really nice!  It was the inspirational and moving Navillera and the hilarious and heartwarming Hello, Me! that I enjoyed this month:

Navillera Korean Drama - Park In Hwan and Song KangNavillera

Navillera is such a heartfelt drama. It’s an inspirational story of two people at very different points in their lives that are pursuing their dreams. It’s also the kind of drama that requires tissues on hand for the many heartwarming as well as heart-wrenching moments.

The series is more thoughtful and contemplative with a slower pace. It takes its time to tell the story and makes sure to focus on the characters and what they are experiencing. Park In Hwan was exceptional here, and we got a great outing from Song Kang too.

Navillera is very moving. The underdog story was so inspiring with so much heart. It’s the kind of story that makes you want to go out and achieve your dreams, and that’s certainly the mark of a quality drama. (Navillera Review)

Hello, Me!

I’m so glad I ended up checking out Hello, Me!. This drama was so much fun! It’s lighthearted with so much comedy gold as well as a nice helping of heart. Count me as surprised! The drama has a bit more of a classic feel to it as well as a very zany and fun style of humor. I laughed so much!

The fantasy time travel aspect of a 17 year old meeting the 37 year old version of herself was very refreshing. It’s a lovely journey to see play out, and the drama is filled with wonderful positive messages about self love.

We also get a bit of romance, a plethora of wonderfully quirky supporting characters, and several other nice character and relationship explorations. Hello, Me! brought me a lot of joy and provided plenty of feels. I liked this drama more and more as it went, and it left me feeling very satisfied. (Hello, Me! Review)

So how was June for you?

Happy drama watching to everyone!

I finished 5 dramas this month. It’s a lot but to be fair, the first two were ones I’ve been watching for a while and happened to finish in June. I’m saying this to make myself feel better from watching too many dramas. 🙂 🙂
    * Hospital Playlist S1 – this show was so good. I’m not even a fan of the procedural type dramas but this drama was so much more than that. I’m actually live watching S2 right now. I’m loving S2 as well.
    * Flower of Evil – I’m glad I finally watched this show. Another really good show. I can’t believe it took me this long to finally watch it.
    * She would never know – this drama was not that popular I believe. But I actually quiet enjoyed it.
    * A love so beautiful (Kdrama) – I had seen the original CDrama and I loved that one and so I watched this version. It was very boring to me and so mostly fast forwarded it. I kind of wish I did not watch it so the original I loved could have remained in my memory.
    * So I married the anti-fan – I loved this one too. It was funny in the beginning. A simple and fluffy drama but an enjoyable one. I loved the FL in this drama.
Overall – a good drama watching month I think. 🙂

Haha, I’ve had that happen quite a few times in the past where I just finished a drama or two in a month which upped the completion number to 4 or 5 😂

You’ve had a great month with mostly dramas you’ve really enjoyed 🙂 I have lots of love for Flower of Evil. Such an excellent drama all around. I’m glad you finally got to it. I’m also happy to hear good things about So Married the Anti-Fan as that is on my upcoming watch list.

I haven’t heard good things about A Love So Beautiful. You’ll just have to figure out a way to erase it from your memory so only the cdrama remains, hehe.

She Would Never Know got mixed reviews, so it’s great that you liked that one too. And of course, Hospital Playlist is super popular, and I’ve heard it’s incredibly well done. It’s great that you can watch season 2 right away 🙂

Korean drama update for June 2021. Finished dramas:

Youth Of May – a melodrama with a classic retro vibe. Set in 1980, it follows 4 main characters and their experiences during the Gwangju uprising. Excellent acting by Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si. Warning: tissues required.

I’ve heard so many good things about Youth of May, so it looks like you got a really good one in for the month. I’ve definitely taken not of the many tissues required for it! hehe

Finished 6 dramas in June, many that just finished their run so I’d been watching for a while. Like D said earlier, will say anything to make myself feel better about spending so much time in kdramaland 🙂

Sell My Haunted House – a bit episodic but good backstory. A hint of a romance that was not explored and has the vibe of a set up for season 2 which I would watch if that happens.

So I Married the Anti Fan – light and fluffy celebrity/regular girl romance that I enjoyed. Predictable but that’s something I love about kdramas.

Doom at Your Service – Not sure what I was expecting but I really enjoyed this. And Seo In Guk looks AMAZING in this! If you’re a fan, it’s a must watch!

Youth of May – one of the best things I’ve watched in a while, but be prepared with a box of tissues. I don’t normally like sad stories and honestly might not have watched had I known where this would go but can’t truly regret watching such a good drama.

Time We Were Not In Love – A good idea poorly executed. If you just watched the first 4-6 eps and the last 2 you’d be covered. A lot of meandering in the middle.

Risky Romance – I was prepared to drop because the story happens with doctors in a hospital and I’m not into blood squirting medical dramas but this was NOT like that at all. They went out of their way not to show that stuff. A solid romance with all of the usual tropes and a cast I wasn’t super familiar with but who were all good. Absolutely loved it. On my re-watch list now actually.

Currently Watching Bossam, Imitation, My Roomate is a Gumiho, At A Distance Spring is Green, Nevertheless, and The Best Hit.

That’s quite the number of finishes for the month! hehe. And you had pretty good luck with them 🙂 It’s great that they all went pretty well except for Time We Were Not in Love.

Doom and So I Married the Anti-Fan are definitely on my list. Youth of May at some point, but probably will wait since it’s a tearjerker. I’m not ready for that 😂
