To. Jenny is a music drama about a woman (Jung Chae Yeon) trying to achieve her dreams despite her difficulties in life and the man (Kim Sung Chul) who has liked her since they were in were high school and is trying to help her while also trying to overcome his own struggles.
Kim Sung Chul plays Park Jung Min. He’s a part time worker who is very awkward and shy. He’s a really talented singer and musician, but he’s struggled to get noticed. But when he reunites with his high school crush, he gets the opportunity to help her in her own music struggles.
Jung Chae Yeon is Kwon Na Ra. She was super popular in high school and quickly joined an entertainment agency. Things haven’t went quite as she had planned though, and she needs help to further her career. Thankfully, Jung Min shows up in her life at the right time.
To. Jenny is a two episode mini drama that I would describe as a ray of sunshine packed with romantic feels. It’s light, fun, and just all around sweet. We watch the adorably awkward Jung Min pursue Na Ra and do what he can to help further her music career.
Kim Sung Chul really nailed the sweet awkwardness of Jung Min, and I could really feel for him. Then Jung Chae Yeon was great as the bright Na Ra who had many struggles to overcome.
Since the drama was only two episodes, the pacing is swift, but it doesn’t feel rushed. We jump right into watching these two interact and see their relationship develop. Their story was simple, but it was done well and was very engaging. And there are plenty of super cute moments between this pair.
The drama also centers around music, so as expected, we got some really great songs that were very fun and catchy. The OST really did well at setting the overall feel-good mood of the drama.
We have some great supporting characters too. My favorite was Jung Min’s sister Ok Hee (Choi Yoo Ri). She had a very strong personality that was humorous and adorable. Watching this brother/sister duo interact was definitely a lot of fun. Jung Min’s friends (Lee Sang Yi and Nam Tae Boo) were also a nice addition to add even more humor.
To. Jenny was such a nice watch. It’s s a short and simple drama with a lovely story that is mostly light but has depth. It’s super sweet and perfect for a quick shot of feels and lots of heart.
My Rating: 8/10
