Despite of being totally underwhelmed by all the promo material so far, I am going to give Arthdal Chronicles a go. (I’m actually way more excited by Novoland: Eagle Flag, which looks epic. It’s freaking 70 episodes though, so it has a high chance of going to pot in the 2nd half, like so many other overly long cdramas. We’ll see. 😀 ). I’ll probably try out Search: WWW andAide too.

I wish you luck with Arthdal Chronicles. I’ll definitely be giving it a go. I think I’ll have to wait until September until the entire drama is complete though. Not loving the split season 😛 Whew! 70 eps is a long one. You’ll need some luck there too, hehe 😉

      • Timescout says:

I’ll probably just watch the first few episodes of Arthadal and if I like it well enough I’ll put it on hold till it’s all done. I’m not loving this trend of split seasons either. One of the reasons I got into kdramas in the first place was that they were complete.

The length of many cdramas it probably their most annoying feature, as it usually means padding, dragging and filler. So… FF-button is your friend. 😛

        • Kay says:

Same here. I like a contained story. While the occasional multiple seasons is fine, this new trend is more splitting one season into two is just annoying. Really hoping this particular trend doesn’t work out and they stick with the one season format.

Yep, I think that FF button would be a major asset with some of those cdramas, hehe

  3. MyKDramaticLife says:

So pick for this month is …. actually Kang Ji Hwan’s ‘Joseon Survival’ hehe. But since you didn’t include it in your list, so I’m going to go with Asadeul Chronicles, which by far my second choice. And I’m still doubting if I’m going to try Aide and SEarch: WWW. 🙂

    • Kay says:

Ah, I know! There’s so many dramas coming out from the small cable networks now that they don’t all fit anymore (I’ll at least include it in one of the upcoming months though). But I’m looking forward to Joseon Survival too. Really hope it gets picked up.

Arthdal Chronicles is definitely an excellent choice. Hoping it’s as awesome as it looks 🙂

      • MyKDramaticLife says:

Yeah. Hope also that it would be as good as what it looks like. :O

        And also here’s to my year-to-date K-update:

        – Abyss (Park Bo Young is ❤ ❤ <3)
        – Room No. 9
        – KIngdom (ON HOLD. Have to have the perfect moment/mood for me to have the courage to see its end)
        – Lucky Romance (lucky to have another chance to re-rewatch their romance all over and over again.)
        – Modern Farmer (I permiered today, and hope we get along with this one)

        – What's Wrong Poong Sang

        • Kay says:

Another good crop of dramas you’re watching. I understand needing some courage for Kingdom. I’m glad I have a break before season 2 in this instance, lol.

I really LOVE Modern Farmer. Exact same comedy style as Waikiki with a maybe a bit more story. Hope you enjoy it 🙂 Let me know how those and you’re up next dramas work out.

  6. So many kdramas are coming out these days! I thought April and May had a lot, but the list has just gotten longer. I started Perfume and WWW. I think they’re alright so far. I am still going to watch them because I don’t mind them, but nothing grabbed me from either show. I do like WWW more though just my opinion. I cannot wait to start Aide. Once I heard about it I have been waiting for it so I am very much looking forward to that. I am really liking Absolute Boyfriend. It’s a cool concept and the characters are great. Definitely keeping up with that every week. I started Angels Last Mission: Love like I said I would finally. I really really like it. It is a bit frustrating right now, but I guess I understand his actions. Can’t wait for the coming episodes. I like Abyss. I’ve seen works from both leads so love them. The show is pretty good. I sometimes forget they are investigating the main lead’s death because of other stuff that is happening, but it’s fine lmao it’s still a good show. I LOVE THE SECRET LIFE OF MY SECRETARY. As you can probably tell, that is my favorite show right now out of everything in the last couple of months. There are definitely other favorites, but this one is just so so good. I am really sad right now because of what’s happening in this show, but we just have to see what happens in the next episodes. I wait for these episodes to air every week, that’s how much I love the show. I really look forward to it every week. The show is kind of predictable, but so are a lot of shows that I love. That’s just my taste. I haven’t seen Arthdal Chronicles. If you have would you recommend? I want your take on it. I have heard mixed reactions, but I am thinking of starting it. Have you also seen Nokdu Flower? I heard it is good and want to start it. I want to hear your thoughts if you have seen it? Are there any other shows on right now that you recommend that I didn’t list on this post? I shouldn’t start more shows, but I want to lmao.

I know how you feel! It really is crazy how many dramas are coming out now. June was tough, but July is really scary with a ridiculous amount of new premieres. It’s impossible to keep up!

I’m going to check out Perfume and Abyss and maybe The Secret Life of My Secretary (it does sound like you love that one, hehe 🙂 ), but I’m most looking forward to starting Absolute Boyfriend and Angel’s Last Mission: Love. Both of those look like dramas I would enjoy. Glad you’ve got so many you’re liking 🙂

I haven’t started Arthdal Chronicles yet. I think I’m going to wait until the third part of the series comes out in September so that I can watch it all. It looks really promising as long as it doesn’t get too political. Nokdu Flower is on my watch list too. Sorry, I don’t have the ones you’ve mentioned started yet. I plan to get to most of them in late June-July and get caught up.

Haha, yep, sometimes we just want more shows even if we really shouldn’t 😉 Hmm, It looks like you’ve got most of the currently airing dramas I would likely recommend well under way. I’m wrapping up some recently aired shows right now. Did you watch Her Private Life and My Fellow Citizens? I really liked Her Private Life a lot and am a few eps into My Fellow Citizens and enjoying is so far 🙂

      • Oh my! Don’t know if I’m prepared for July. I guess it’ll be a good birthday present haha 🙂

I would definitely recommend all of those! I think you’d like them. Most of the dramas coming out these days have been pretty good. I really have nothing bad to say. I honestly haven’t been disappointed by anything I have seen recently. Definitely, hope you get to watch all of them! Absolute Boyfriend and Angel’s Last Mission: Love are really good! You need to watch them!

It is all good! I might watch them anyways because why not. There are so many dramas to watch so I don’t blame you. I was struggling awhile ago trying to watch everything, but I think I am doing pretty good right now since most of them are on air so I just keep up with everything every week. Maybe watch an episode or two a day depending on what has aired. I am no prepared for July since you said it’s going to be a hefty one, but I am excited for what is to come. Summer has been great so far with all these great dramas!

I know I am so tempted all the time. Now here I am watching 6 shows on air at once. Also, I did watch Her Private Life! I really liked that drama. I had kept up with it while it was on air. I started My Fellow Citizens but stopped for some reason. I need to get back to it. Some shows I had started like Doctor Prisoner and My Fellow Citizens and sort of stopped because there was so many other shows I wanted to stop, but now I am doing pretty good at being caught up so I might take up those shows again. 🙂

        • Kay says:

That’s a good way to look at it. Lots of drama presents for you! hehe 🙂

I agree, it’s been a pretty good year with quite a few really great dramas. And it looks like there are quite a few more on the way. I hope to knock a bunch of them out in July, and I’m excited for them!

Yeah, I can see how if you have a lot of shows going at once how a few of them could fall to the wayside. I usually watch one at a time over about a week, usually the week before a drama ends or at least close to that. Keeps me focused, hehe. But yeah, if those shows don’t grab you’re interest, you will have sooooo many to choose from in July! 🙂

          • I used to be the person to binge watch completed shows at once and never ever watch any on-air shows. But now there are less and less completed shows to watching and there’s so many airing so I just switched to watching on air shows. It gets hard for me to wait for everything to air these days so I just keep up with them every week. If I find a completed show I like I’ll binge it lol. Anyways, I am ecstatic for the upcoming July dramas! I will have so many to watch and keep me busy during my downtime! All of the shows I am watching right now are literally airing almost the same days so the rest of the week I have nothing to do when I have free time so I am hoping the next bunch of shows have different air dates so I have something to watch before going to bed those days as well haha! 😀

            Liked by 1 person

            • Kay says:

Yeah, I used to only watch completed older shows too. I still watch some older shows (there are tons of classics I haven’t seen), but mostly I watch current shows, just not week to week but rather when they are almost completed. I just hate waiting week to week, lol.

Yes, I think we will both have lots to get excited about in July. I hope they air on different days for you too. Gotta make room for all of those dramas! 😉
