He’s back! After just recently being discharged from the military, Lee Min Ho (Legend of the Blue Sea) has accepted the starring role in the new Korean drama The King: The Eternal Monarch.
The King: The Eternal Monarch is the newest series coming from writer Kim Eun Sook of hit dramas such as Mr. Sunshine, Goblin: The Great and Lonely God, and Descendants of the Sun. The story is about parallel worlds with one world involving the emperor of the Korean empire who is trying to close the door between the worlds and the other a detective in the Republic of Korea who is trying to save lives.
Lee Min Ho previously worked with Kim Eun Sook in 2013 when he starred in Heirs. This really seems like a fitting choice for his return to dramas as this is likely to be another big budget drama that will be extremely popular. I’ve certainly enjoyed most of this writer’s dramas, and Lee Min Ho being the star just ups the excitement even more. I can’t wait to see who we get to play the leading lady. It should be a fun drama to watch come together.
The King: The Eternal Monarch is planning to air in the first half of 2020.
Yes!!!! Can’t wait! Both Lee Min Ho and Ji Chang Wook (my favorites) have projects lined up after completing military service. Life is good 🙂

Not feelin particylarly excited by either the writer or the leading man. Both are rather meh in my book. The premise sounds interesting though, so I might tune in just for that. 😉

Maybe you’ll get lucky and the premise will override your reservations just because its so awesome, hehe. Of course, I’m expecting we’ll get the same Kim Eun Sook and Lee Min Ho we know, which works pretty good for me, but probably not so well for you 😦 But you never for show until the drama is rolling. As always, hoping for a good one! 🙂

Haha, yeah maybe it’ll be ‘awesome’enough to make me push play. If I don’t get majorly irritated by the usual KESisms, I might even watch most of it. 😁 We’ll see, I guess.
