IU Offered Starring Role in New Hong Sisters Korean Drama

Hong Sisters Korean Drama - IU

An offer is now out to IU (My Ahjussi) to star in the new Hong sisters drama. Still no title or plot details for this one yet though. This is the drama that Jun Ji Hyun (Legend of the Blue Sea) had previously been offered, but apparently she turned it down.

I would love to see IU in a new project, especially a Hong sisters drama which should be all kinds of fun. Fantasy pairings for her leading man are already swirling around in my head. The drama will be directed by the PD of While You Were Sleeping and is looking to air sometime in 2019.

OH MAN! I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS. MY FAVORITE WRITERS PLUS MY FAVORITE LEAD ACTRESS (currently; it might change obviously haha)! I am so happy Jun Ji Hyun turned it down. HAHAHA. I was not so happy with the last IU drama I watched (Producers). She did not even have a happy ending!

I hope that the Hong Sisters will outdo themselves this time and make this drama even better than My Girlfriend is a Gumiho! I am ready for that! LOL. IU is capable of being cute and in pain (the two emotions that are the usual ingredients in Hong Sisters dramas). She and Shin Min Ah are alike in that sense.

I’ll stop writing. I’m just very excited for this. Do they already have a projected date of release? I think this will be mid-2019. But I will be having a Game of Thrones marathon by then. Oh man!

Plus the PD of While You Were Sleeping! I’m even more excited! Now I need to contain my excitement! That’s going to be a challenge. LOL.

Love your excitement! I’m always ready for a new Hong sisters drama too! And I agree, this would be great for IU. I think she would fit well with their style. I would be so happy if my fav actor Lee Joon Gi would sign on opposite her. I’ve been wanting him to do a rom-com and a Hong sisters drama for a while. And the reunion with IU would be wonderful.

Although I’m also fantasizing on him being cast in the possible Park Min Young drama too. Of course, it’s unlikely he will even be mentioned for either. Ah well, I just hope these talented ladies get cast for now 🙂 So far they are just saying first half of 2019 which probably means at least middle of the year.

HAHAHA. I was expecting you to mention Lee Joon Gi somewhere in your comment. And yes, it would be nice to see him as well. Even if they never meet again as Wang So and Ha-jin, at least they meet again (and have a happy ending) somehow. ☺

And I just realized! The Hong sisters keep asking Jun Ji Hyun to be their lead – AND SHE KEEPS TURNING THEM DOWN. Do they have a love-hate relationship? LOL.

Then the most important part: the best Hong Sisters dramas are those turned down by Jun Ji Hyun, e.g. My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and this new one. HAHAHAHAHA. Be ready, Kay! This one is going to be amazing!

You know me well, lol. Yes, can’t we at least have a happy reunion in a romantic comedy for our star crossed lovers?

Hmm, I wonder what’s up with them and Jun Ji Hyun. I do think she would be a good fit for their comedic style and they are fairly big names to go with her popularity. But I think we know that Gumiho worked out for the best in every way possible! So yes, let’s get more of that in this one! 🙂
