Romantic Comedy King Korean Drama - Yeo Jin Goo

Yeo Jin Goo (Reunited Worlds) has been offered a lead role in the new drama Romantic Comedy King. He would play a robot created to be the perfect boyfriend. Hmm, I’m super anxious to see Yeo Jin Goo select a new project, but I’m not sure how I feel about him being a robot. I’m all for the recent robot trend, but Yeo Jin Goo is such an emotionally intense actor that I don’t want him to be constrained with his emotions. But I know he is talented enough to convey a lot though very subtle expressions. The drama interests me regardless, so it would just be an added bonus if he does decide to sign on.

He would join Chun Jung Myung (Master: God of Noodles) who will play a top star. Korean media outlets had originally reported Song Ji Hyo (My Wife’s Having an Affair This Week) would be starring in the drama, but it was later revealed that she declined the role.

Romantic Comedy King is a remake of the Japanese manga and drama Absolute Boyfriend. It tells the story of a make-up artist struggling with her love life who ends up with the perfect robot boyfriend. It comes from the writer of Mirror of the Witch and the PD of Flower Boy Next Door.

Romantic Comedy King is looking to air sometime this year.

Yeo Jin Goo. As a robot. I’m in.

Despite… “It comes from the writer of Mirror of the Witch and the PD of Flower Boy Next Door.”

Well, this is supposed to be a remake of jdrama Zettai Kareshi (a manga live action). As I recall, the robot had plenty of emotions in the end. 🙂

Oh good, I’m glad to hear the robot does get more emotional throughout. Yeo Jin Goo would be wonderful at showing the development of that 🙂

I don’t know how closely they are going to follow the original story but he wasn’t exactly emotionless to begin with. Night (the robot’s name) is a “love robot”. 😉 And the English name for the jdrama is Absolute Boyfriend. That alone should tell us something, heh.

Yeah, I know they’ve already changed a few things, but hopefully they keep the robot character the same especially considering he is supposed to be a love robot, hehe 🙂

The ending of the manga and taiwanese version is like reunited worlds ending. And i understand why they gave tbe offer to jingoo. When the robot became self aware, the story became melo dramatic. But of course, the robot cant cry. Jingoo, can handle the emotions here very well. But its over a week now, i doubt he accepted the offer.

Ooh, good to know. Yes, Yeo Jin Goo could definitely handle anything when it comes to emotions. He is just so talented. I too am not sure if he will take it. He seems to be carefully choosing his project this time since he has already passed up several roles recently. I’m just hoping to see him again soon in whatever he chooses though 🙂
