Black Knight Korean Drama - Kim Rae Won

It looks like the last month of 2017 is already upon us. So now we start the dramas that will carry us into the new year. Let’s see what we have to look forward to in this December  2017 edition of “Korean Dramas You Need to Be Watching.”  This monthly  series is meant to keep you updated on what’s happening in the world of Korean dramas so that you don’t miss out on anything!

Here are the kdramas you need to keep an eye out for in December 2017:

My Pick:

Great minds… 🙂 Already started number #’s 10, 8, 7, all promising. Can’t wait for Bad Guys 2, Black and Hwayugi.

Ooh, that’s good to hear! I plan to check out Two Cops and Doubtful Victory too. Also Hwayugi, Bad Guys 2, I’m Not a Robot, Black Knight, and Just Between Lovers. Man, that sure is a lot of dramas, lol 🙂

Hwayugi 💓 Hope this drama will exceed our expectations. Too many great actors involved. It would be a total waste if the writers won’t step up in their game.

    1. Kay Avatar

Me too! I’m beyond excited for Hwayugi! I too hope the Hong Sisters recreated their drama magic because like you said, this cast is absolutely fantastic 🙂

    1. Kay Avatar

For sure! Can’t wait for Lee Seung Gi!! 🙂

  4. kahlan lee Avatar

I already started watching Two cops and Doubtful Victory. I like both of the drama, especially Doubtful Victory.
May I know how you get images without getting complaints about copyright violations? I find it hard to contact anyone regarding the use of pictures.

    1. Kay Avatar

I’m planning to watch both Two Cops and Doubtful Victory too. Been hearing good things about them so I’m excited to check them out 🙂 As for images, most websites and blogs operate under Fair Use where a portion of a work, like stills, can be used for commentary, critique, and art. This isn’t meant to be legal advice though. Wrongful complaints are always possible, which just have to be handled case by case.

    Hi Kay,
Are there any Historical ones coming out. I think I’ve seen all of them except 2 of them.
    Thanks,
    Ann

    1. Kay Avatar

Hi Ann! There is a serious historical drama shortage right now. It’s like they all dried up after The King Loves ended. But it looks like the first one coming out will be Grand Prince currently planning to air in January. So we still have to wait a bit. And that’s the only one so far. I really hope they start planning for several others in the new year 🙂

I am looking forward to several of these dramas. Unfortunately some of the ones that have started are locked on viki for the super plus special pass. I only have the “cheap package”. Sad times.

    1. Kay Avatar

I know what you mean. Everything has become so complicated and confusing these days with dramas now being so spread out and not all even getting subbed. I was wondering, do those locked dramas ever become available on the standard pass? I upgraded pretty quickly, so I wasn’t sure if they were delayed for standard or exclusively for the Plus.

      1. shadowoftheoperaghost Avatar

Some of them are just delayed. Some haven’t been made available at all. But idk if they will be someday. When you upgraded, did you just pay the difference or did you have to buy the whole thing again?

        1. Kay Avatar

When I did it, they charged me the full price to create a new renewal date and then credited me back for the unused portion of my previous package. I still had like 4-5 months left, so they credited me around $20 at the same time which came off the Plus total. So it all kind of worked out.

VIU app is great I am watching kdrama from that app.. even u dont subscribe

        1. Kay Avatar

I haven’t actually tried VIU, but know a lot of people like it. I’ll have to give it a look sometime 🙂

  7. libraryofthoughts Avatar

I am excited about #1, but I am also leery of idol comebacks. They can have so much riding on it, that it is a let down for me. I do, however, love #8. It’s shocking how it just keeps twisting and turning, well in some cases I feel like I know where it will eventually lead. I still like it though.

    1. Kay Avatar

Yeah, my excitement level is through the roof for Hwayugi, lol. Definitely wishing the best for Lee Seung Gi 🙂 Interesting to hear about Nothing to Lose. Been hearing kind of mixed things on it, so it’s good to hear you like it and it has some interesting twists 🙂

  8. raistlin0903 Avatar

Well, I don’t think I really have to list my favorites (lol), but it will of course for me be the case will they or won’t they appear on Viki. My guess is most of them won’t. I’m glad Netflix is currently adding a few good ones to their line up as well. I’m right in the middle of Stranger right now which I find to be pretty good.
But I’m hoping a few of these at least will find their way to me as well, especially Bad Guys 2.

    1. Kay Avatar

It’s good to see you back! Missed seeing you around 🙂 The new Netflix deal is definitely good for you as they will be getting several tvN dramas soon. So more options! Glad you’re enjoying Stranger. I tried it out but it just didn’t click with me. Disappointing since it’s one of those that literally everyone else loves, lol. Ah well, it happens 🙂

      1. raistlin0903 Avatar

Thanks, I’m really glad to be back myself. Missed you too 😀 That really sounds great though. Most of the dramas that are available for me at the moment, are just shows that I’m not really interested in, so that sounds really good.
Wow, okay….that’s really too bad about Stranger. I’m really liking it so far, and I’m on episode 10 right now. It certainly isn’t the best show I have seen, but it’s quite intriguing all the same. But you are right, things like that sometimes happen, that’s for sure 😊

        1. Kay Avatar

Yeah, it’s one of the most popular kdramas of the year among international fans. It’s one that you pretty much only see glowing reviews for, so I was pretty excited it for it. Talk about disappointing when it didn’t click at all. And I still don’t drop a lot of dramas, so you know it REALLY didn’t click, lol. But the drama I started after it was wonderful, so all worked out 🙂

  9. kahlan lee Avatar

I started watching Doubtful Victory and I really love the main character. He looks so handsome even in his poor looks.

    I’m also excited about Hwayugi.

    1. Kay Avatar

I’m very interested in checking out Doubtful Victory, so it’s good to hear good things about it. And I too am more than excited for Hwayugi! I just can’t wait for that one 🙂

  10. aramisz (@aramisz) Avatar

i gave a try for Doubtful Victory.. and it worth

    1. Kay Avatar

Good to hear! It really looks like a fun one 🙂
