Bride of the Water God Korean Drama - Nam Joo Hyuk and Shin Se Kyung

A five minute long preview trailer is out for the upcoming tvN drama Bride of the Water God 2017 starring Nam Joo Hyuk  (Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo) and Shin Se Kyung (Six FlyingDragons). After not seeing a whole lot from the actual drama in many of the previous trailers, now there is a lot to see!

We get a look at the Water World where the Water God is from. Then there is plenty of comedy and fun interactions between Nam Joo Hyuk and Shin Se Kyung. Of course, things do get a bit more dramatic towards the end as our characters do have to face some real challenges. And with that, it looks like the premiere is upon us!

Bride of the Water God 2017 is loosely based off of the popular manhwa about a village suffering from drought that offers young women as sacrifices to a water god. One of the sacrifices eventually becomes his bride.

The drama version moves the setting into modern day Seoul with Nam Joo Hyuk as the Water God and Shin Se Kyung as a neuropsychiatrist whose family has served him for generations. The writer penned Misaeng and Arang and the Magistrate while the PD did Nine: Nine Time Travels and Queen In Hyun’s Man.

Bride of the Water is scheduled to premiere July 3 on tvN.

This one has peeked my interest levels. It’s bringing together a lot of elements that I like, from the actors to the people working behind the camera. but I do have to point one thing out… that shot of him on the skateboard was so cheeesy. haha 😛

I really like the combination of things too. Actors I like, a solid writer and PD, and the trailers look fun. I agree about the skateboard, definitely cheesy. Of course, when do rom-coms not have at least something cheesy in them, lol 🙂
