Taecyeon Offered Lead Role in Korean Drama ‘Save Me’; Seo Ye Ji Confirms

Save Me Korean Drama - Seo Ye Ji

It looks like Taecyeon (Let’s Fight Ghost) has been offered the lead role in the new OCN drama Save Me (also known as Rescue Me). Save Me is a psychological thriller based on the webtoon Out of the World about two young men who hear a woman in an alley ask for someone to save her. They rescue her and then find themselves caught up in the mystery of her involvement in a pseudo-religious cult that she is trying to escape from.

Taecyeon would play a kind and handsome man who helps our troubled woman. Seo Ye Ji (Hwarang) has been confirmed to be playing that woman whose family falls into debt and she somehow ends up involved with a cult. Also joining the cast is Jo Sung Ha (The K2) and Woo Do Hwan (The Man Living in Our House).

I’m still very interested to see this drama come together with such a unique premise. I’m ready to see Taecyeon in another drama after thoroughly enjoying him in Let’s Fight Ghost. And this character sounds like a good one for him. I also really like Seo Ye Ji and am glad that she has signed on.

Save Me is looking to air in July on OCN.

  1. Ever since watching 7 First Kisses I’ve been interesting in all the leading men and their next projects.

From your April kdrama post, Park Hae Jin in Man to Man caught my eye. Frankly, he looks great in a tuxedo. And I do love action.

Therefore I’m interested in Taecyeon’s next project Save Me that you’ve detailed. I love the idea of exploring a cult. I’ve not seen this in a kdrama yet.

Wouldn’t it be neat to create a “what is their next project?” post for all the leading men of 7 First Kisses? I’d read it….hint, hint…😉

Omo! I love it! What a great idea! Is it okay with you if I do a post with that theme? My brain started working the moment I read your comment, hehe

But yes, Park Hae Jin is looking like the perfect suave bodyguard type in Man to Man. I’m really looking forward to that one. And the character description for Taecyeon sounds great for him in Save Me. Have you seen either of them in a drama yet?

      • I am so pleased you like the idea. Please run with it. You know all about upcoming projects.
I have not seen either of them in a drama. Amazing that a web drama has readied me to expanded my circle of leading men that I want to watch!

Yay! I’ll be working on a post then 🙂

It’s great that something like a cute little web drama can introduce you to new and talented leading men. I really enjoyed Taec in Let’s Fight Ghost last year and of course the classic Dream High. Park Hae Jin has a wider range and I find him particularly good at playing creepy characters like his serial killer role in Bad Guys. I think Man to Man will be a fun one since he seems to completely fit the secret agent part 🙂

Hmm, a series about a cult can definitely be interesting. It really is an original premise, and if done well, can really be interesting. This could become a pretty dark series, but I guess we have to wait for the first trailer to see if they are going to be heading into dark territory.

Yeah, this is one I’m very intrigued with and am very curious as to what direction and tone it will have. It is on OCN which tends to lean towards darker material. I’m ready to find out though!
