Jin Goo (Night Light), Park Min Young (Remember: War of the Son), and Yeon Woo Jin (Introverted Boss) have been offered lead roles in the new KBS sageuk drama Seven Day Queen. Seven Day Queen is a political romance about the love story between King Jungjong and the daughter of a powerful politician who became queen for just one week before being dethroned because of her father’s attempted political coup. She gets caught in a love triangle with him and his half brother King Yeonsangung.
Yeon Woo Jin is up to play King Jungjong, Park Min Young would play our one week queen, and Jin Goo would make up the third leg of our love triangle as King Yeonsangung. The drama comes from the PD of Healer.
I’ve been anxious to see my girl Park Min Young in another drama, so I’m more than ready for her to sign on for something. An initial offer went out and was quickly turned down by Lee Jin Wook (Goodbye Mr. Black) for the role of King Jungjong. I immediately started picturing my dream pairing of Park Min Young and Lee Joon Gi. I’ve dreamed of them doing a drama together for a long time now.
And they recently displayed some pretty great chemistry when they appeared on the variety program My Ear’s Candy. But he’s done a lot of sageuks recently and is currently still considering an offer to star in the Criminal Minds remake.
But with the news of Yeon Woo Jin in contention, I do like that too. He has the ability to carry a role like this, and I think he would make a great match with Park Min Young. Now we just have to hope for some confirmations soon!
Seven Day Queen is looking to air this summer on KBS.
