Legend of the Blue Stays in First in Korean Drama Ratings; Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Ju and Oh My Geum Bi Both See Increases

Legend of the Blue Sea continues to see great ratings. It did have a slight dip from its series high last week, but even then its numbers were higher than all of the previous weeks. It brought in 17.4% for episode 7 on Wednesday and another 17.4% for episode 8 on Thursday.

Oh My Geum Bi increased this week by bringing in 5.8% for episode 7 on Wednesday and 6.0% for episode 8 on Thursday.

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Ju also saw an increase and even broke 5% for the first time. It brought in 4.8% for episode 7 on Wednesday and a series high of 5.4% for episode 8 Thursday.

Legend of the Blue Sea didn’t make it to that 20% mark this week, but it is still performing incredibly well and has plenty of time to do it. I’m thrilled to see both Oh My Geum Bi and Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Ju see increases even if they are small. I’m wishing them both better luck in the second half of their runs.

In my opinion. the truth is that these two dramas are not contenders for the Legend of the blue sea..Sorry, but….

  Yeah, Legend of the Blue Sea would be nearly impossible to beat for most dramas. It’s got a star couple, a popular writer, and a grand story. But I do think dramas like Weightlifting Fairy and Oh My Guem Bi bring their own simple and heartwarming charm. Many fans seem to be enjoying all of them, so it really just depends on your tastes 🙂

With all the great shows that are currently on, I almost forgot about Oh my Geum Bi 😅 Glad for these weekly update posts. Totally forgot to note that one down (A mistake I have corrected right away 😀)

  Yep, it’s still around, although a bit in the shadow of Legend of the Blue Sea. People seem to be really liking it though. It seems to have an appealing charm and mix of humor and seriousness. Although as expected, kleenex may be needed in abundance, hehe
