Legend of the Blue Sea Korean Drama - Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun

Now this trailer has me excited! The first teaser trailer is out for the new SBS drama Legend of the Blue Sea starring Lee Min Ho (Heirs) and Jun Ji Hyun (My Love from Another Star). It’s short and only gives us snippets, but it’s a good one! The trailer is full of longing between our two lovers who share a love that spans centuries.

It opens with Lee Min Ho on a beach gazing out at the sea. We then see flashes of our mermaid Jun Ji Hyun in the ocean and on land as well as being captured during the Joseon timeline. We get a few snippets of her and Lee Min Ho during that time period too. In the modern timeline, we see Lee Min Ho laying on a beach with Jun Ji Hyun now in human form walking away.

With more details finally emerging about the story, I can definitely see the similarities with My Love from Another Star. This time the woman will be the one who lives for centuries longing for the man she loves before finally encountering his look alike in the modern time period.

I absolutely love the story and the set up for this drama. I could already sense so much longing and heartache just in that short trailer. Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun both look wonderful and are already delivering so much intensity. I am so excited for Legend of the Blue Sea on so many levels!

Legend of the Blue Sea is about the last mermaid (Jun Ji Hyun) on Earth who goes to Seoul and tries to adjust to life on land. She meets a swindler (Lee Min Ho), and the two begin a romantic relationship. The drama comes from Park Ji Eun, the writer of My Love from Another Star.

Legend of the Blue Sea is scheduled to premiere November 16 on SBS.

The amount of interesting shows that I have seen now is seriously going off the charts. I might have to make a strict schedule for myself just to keep track of the time I need to spent watching lol. Anyway, cool trailer, looks to be another very cool show 😀

Yep, it’s never ending. But I’d rather have too many shows to choose from than not enough, lol. I’m very excited for this one. The writer is very solid, great cast, love the bit of a fantasy element to it. It’s probably the only other drama this year that has a shot at rivaling Descendants of the Sun (which I really enjoyed too). I doubt it will beat it in terms of popularity, but it’s likely to be a hit. I’m glad it’s not long until the premiere 🙂

Stunning trailer! Can’t wait to see a longer trailer! So excited for this one. I do hope they allow some more happy moments because I’ve watched so many intense dramas this year, I need some happy in my K-drama life!! Lol. Perhaps that’s too seflish a request but I will hold out for a more lighthearted drama than a complete melo. Actually, if we just keep it tonally like Descendants of the Sun, I’ll be fine! I felt like there was a nice balance of intense dram and happier moments in that one. 😉

It really was a wonderful first teaser! I can’t wait for a longer one too! Well, it is from the My Love from Another Star writer, and even though it was a melo, it had plenty of light and happy moments. I think they will be going for some comedy with Jun Ji Hyun adjusting to life on land in the beginning. I’m sure there will be plenty of melo, but hopefully it will follow this writer’s previous pattern and give us some happy too 🙂

That’s right, I forgot it was from the My Love From Another Star writer! Now I’m more hopeful! 😀

Yay! Yeah, I’m very hopeful with this writer too. And the second trailer highlighted some of the funnier side of the drama 🙂
