Soo Ae (Mask) has been been confirmed to be starring in the new KBS comedy drama The Man Living in Our House. The Man Living in Our House is based on a webtoon about a woman (Soo Ae) whose life becomes a lot more complicated when a man the same age as her turns up claiming to be her late mother’s husband, making him her stepfather. She doesn’t believe him and then sets out on a mission to prove he is lying.
The webtoon writer also penned the webtoons I Steal Peaks at Him Everyday (Flower Boy Next Door) and Ho Goo’s Love, and the writer for the drama version will be the writer of the Flower Boy Next Door drama.
An offer is out to Kim Young Kwang (D-Day) for the leading male role of the mysterious stepfather who is a farmer that was once a gangster. Also offered roles in the drama are Lee Soo Hyuk (Lucky Romance) as an intelligent rich man who loves money and has a dark personality as well as Jo Bo Ah (Monster) as a flight attendant who lies and steals to hide her poverty.
My first thought is why I am still waiting for Lee Soo Hyuk to get a lead role? But I can definitely see him playing this more cold, dark character. I’m more neutral about the rest of the cast, but the premise is quirky enough that I’m definitely going to be keeping an eye on this one.
The Man Living in Our House is looking to air in October on KBS.
