Entertainer Korean Drama - Ji Sung and Hyeri

It looks like the currently airing SBS drama Entertainer starring Ji Sung (Kill Me, Heal Me), Hyeri (Reply 1988), and Kang Min Hyuk (Heirs) has received a 2 episode extension.  This changes the final episode count from 16 to 18 and will add an extra week onto the airing schedule.

The production team spoke about it as an opportunity to explore the story more, but I think it’s pretty obvious they extended the drama to buy more time for the drama following Entertainer to get things together.

The thriller Wanted about a popular actress who is forced to do “missions” on a live television show after her son is kidnapped in order to meet the kidnappers demands has struggled to secure its lead cast and looks like they could use the extra week to get things in place.

Hopefully, that’s enough time.  I really like the premise of Wanted, so I would love for them to get a solid cast in place and start rolling on production.  Things are tight, but drama teams frequently work under pressure and tight schedules, so it’s just a matter of time before they get it all toegether.

Entertainer is about a manager (Ji Sung) who was once in charge of the top entertainment agency in Korea, but now represents rookies in his own small agency.  As a group of rag-tag musicians is assembled, he learns what it really means to be a manager.

Entertainer will now conclude on June 16 with Wanted scheduled to premiere June 23.

I just hope Entertainer doesn’t suffer too badly from the extension… they’ve finally turned towards the awesome, in my eyes, and I don’t want them to turn back because they gained two more hours. 🙂

Extensions are always a bit risky, but 2 episodes isn’t too bad. For most dramas I’ve seen, usually it seems like the pace slows a bit and we get more flashbacks, lol. Hopefully, that’s all it is and things don’t get too crazy 😉
