Ji Chang Wook (Healer) has confirmed he will star in the new Chinese drama The Whirlwind Girl 2. The first installment of The Whirlwind Girl aired in 2015 and focused on martial arts. Although the same writer and director will be involved in the new project, the cast will be different from the first series while following the same story premise.
After recently wrapping up filming on his previous Chinese drama My Male God, I was really hoping he would head back over to Korea for a kdrama. But that doesn’t seem to be his plan. With the high probability of him enlisting in the military by the end of 2016, the chances of him taking another Korean drama are getting slimmer. But with both of his Chinese dramas still set to air, at least he will on our screens for most of the year.
The Whirlwind Girl 2 is scheduled to premiere in July on Hunan TV.

Dang I might watch this C-drama just because of him. I’m so trapped in Kdramaland I don’t seem to be able to get out of it. But yeah, I’ll give this one a try.

So far I’ve only completed one cdrama, but I’m having success with a second one right now. Both are historical though. Modern ones have been unable to pull me in at all. Which is a shame because I would love to see Ji Chang Wook. Lee Jong Suk was recently cast in a cdrama too. I’ll give them both a try, but I’m not too hopeful. Hopefully, they’ll do kdramas next!

Yes, Lee Jong Suk recently signed on for Jade Lover. I’ve only completed one Chinese historical drama, but haven’t had any luck completing modern ones. There’s definitely similarities with kdramas, but they just don’t have the same feel. I will at least check out both Whirlwind Girl 2 and Jade Lover as long as they get subbed though. I won’t get my hopes up, but I at least have to try 🙂
