Descendants of the Sun Korean Drama - Song Joong Ki

Here is the February edition of “Korean Dramas You Need to Be Watching.”  This monthly series is meant to keep you updated on what’s happening in the world of Korean dramas so that you don’t miss out on anything!   We have a big premiere this month to go along with the many dramas that premiered in January.

Here are the kdramas you need to keep an eye out for in February 2016:

My Pick:

Descendants of the Sun

Descendants of the Sun Korean Drama - Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo

Descendants of the Sun may very well be the most highly anticipated drama this year.  With Song Joong Ki making his big drama comeback after his return from the military, fans have been excited since the moment he was cast.  And it looks like we have quite a nice pairing with leading lady Song Hye Kyo.  Our duo will deal with relationships and love while also fighting for their lives.  This is a big production drama coming from the popular writer of Heirs and Secret Garden.  It certainly looks like it will be quite a ride!

Descendants of the Sun tells the story of a UN captain (Song Joong Ki) and a doctor (Song Hye Kyo) who fall in love while providing aid in a country dealing with a natural disaster and civil strife.

Descendants of the Sun is scheduled to premiere February 24 on KBS.

BEGINNING IN FEBRUARY:

Come Back Ahjussi

Come Back Ahjussi Korean Drama - Rain and Oh Yeon Seo

Come Back Ahjussi tells the story of two middle-aged men who die and then come back to earth and inhabit the bodies of a young man (Rain) and young woman (Oh Yeon Seo).

Come Back Ahjussi is scheduled to premiere February 24 on SBS.

Moorim School

Moorim School Korean Drama - Lee Hyun Woo

One More Happy Ending airs Wednesday and Thursday on MBC.

Madame Antoine

Madame Antoine Korean Drama - Sung Joon and Han Ye Seul

Madame Antoine tells the story of a fake fortune teller (Han Ye Seul) who  has the ability to read other people’s feelings and a top psychologist (Sung Joon) who is amazing at his job, but is insensitive to love.  The two will be involved in a “psychological game” with each other as they fall in love.

Remember

Remember Korean Drama - Yoo Seung Ho

Remember tells the story of an attorney named Seo Jin Woo (Yoo Seung Ho) who suffers from a condition called hyperthymesia which results in having an autobiographical memory where he can remember everything in extreme detail.  When his father is falsely accused of a crime and sentenced to death, he sets out to clear his name with the help of his childhood friend (Park Min Young).  But then Jin Woo’s excellent memory starts to fade, and it’s a race against time to help his father while he still can.

Master of Trade: Inn 2015 will wrap up its run later this month.  The 50 episode melodrama Glamorous Temptation is also still moving along.

February is a slow month in terms of new premieres.  But we had plenty of dramas that premiered in January to choose from.  Of course, I’m super excited about Descendants of the Sun.  I also really hope Come Back Ahjussi is a fun ride.

Which dramas are you enjoying or looking forward to in February?

Make sure to get caught up because there are more interesting dramas coming your way in March!

Me too! I’ve been waiting for Descendants of the Sun for sooo long, lol. I’m going to start Cheese in the Trap after I wrap up the couple dramas I’m watching now. It looks really interesting.

I’m also planning to try Madame Antoine and One More Happy Ending too. A lot of people seemed to think the first couple eps of One More Happy Ending were really funny. It looks like it has a unique comedy style, so that may play into whether I like it not. Lots of good dramas out right now though 🙂

What are you watching at the moment?
Exactly! People were going on about how hilarious One more happy ending is buuut for some reason I couldn’t get into it. Hope you like it though! And do watch Cheese in the trap. It’s reallly good 🙂

I’m watching Reply 1988 and Three Musketeers right now. The plan is to start Remember once I finish Three Musketeers this weekend and then Cheese in the Trap once I complete Reply 1988. I’m halfway through Reply so I should be able to start Cheese in the Trap in about 1-2 weeks. I’m pretty excited about that one because it does look really good!

So many great sounding dramas. It looks like my resolution to wait and marathon everything is going to get even harder to keep.

It really is so hard to wait! 2016 has started off with a lot of dramas that interest me, so I have quite a long list already 🙂 At least I get to start a couple of dramas that are only a couple weeks away from conclusion this weekend, so hopefully that will help keep me entertained until I’m ready for this latest batch!
