Korean Drama Update for November 2025

November was a busy month and brought me the supernatural historical The Haunted Palace, the revenge drama Reborn Rich, and the fantasy romantic comedy Genie, Make a Wish. Here’s how it went:

The Haunted Palace

The Haunted Palace - Yook Sung Jae and Bona

The Haunted Palace was a bit all over the place for me. It’s a drama that did quite a few things that I liked, but it also did quite a few things that I didn’t. One of the main plots fell off fairly quickly, but another one was pretty good. The story of the king was very engaging especially due to Kim Ji Hoon’s incredible performance.

Sadly, I wasn’t particularly invested in several of the other characters or the romance.  As a whole, the drama suffered from quite a few pacing issues. At times, it was suspenseful, while at other times, it felt draggy. It does have enough going for it that I would say give it a whirl to see how you fare. (The Haunted Palace Review)

Reborn Rich

Reborn Rich Korean Drama - Song Joong Ki

Reborn Rich was an excellent drama. It was very well written with an engaging plot that goes through many twists and turns along with dynamic characters and great pacing. There are quite a lot of business politics in the show which is something I don’t really gravitate towards, but the story was so good that I really didn’t mind.

We also get incredible performances from the entire cast especially from Song Joong Ki and Lee Sang Min. It’s a fun cast of characters for sure and seeing them go at each other was entertaining. Reborn Rich is a revenge drama done well. I had a lot of fun with this one from start to finish. (Reborn Rich Review)

Genie, Make a Wish

Genie, Make a Wish Korean Drama - Kim Woo Bin and Suzy

Genie, Make a Wish was an interesting drama in many ways, but it was also a mixed bag for me. I always love a unique premise, and having a genie at the center of the story is a little more unique for a kdrama. We had great performances from Kim Woo Bin and Suzy, and their characters were engaging. The story and production were solid, but the overall structure of the drama had quite a few issues. The tone was a bit odd, and sometimes the pacing suffered.

At times, it felt like the drama wanted to be very grand, and towards the end, it sometimes felt like that, but frequently, it did feel like it was trying a bit too hard and fell short. But overall, I did enjoy Genie Make a Wish, and it was a fun ride if you don’t take it too seriously. (Genie, Make a Wish Review)

Hi Kay – I’ve seen Haunted Palace but I haven’t seen the other two. Based on your reviews, I feel like I should check out Reborn Rich.

Hi D! Good to see you 😊 Hopefully, you enjoyed The Haunted Palace. Reborn Rich is definitely solid if you like revenge mixed with some business politics. It was a very fun drama 😊

Watched a lot in November but can’t say any of them stood out as exceptionally good. One of the few months I didn’t actually drop any dramas.

Ms. Incognito – good story and acting but felt the villain was so good that the “good” guys were not really in her league. The ML was also poorly cast.

Typhoon Family – I loved the cast but found the story boring and too many episodes of watching them struggle. Romance lacked chemistry.

Would You Marry Me – Enjoyed this one as lighter fare compared to my other dramas in November. Loved the cast and story.

Dear X – Extraordinary acting by Kim Yoo Jung but really tough to watch as this is not my usual genre. Also not super happy with the ending.

The Manipulated – Watched for Ji Chang Wook and D.O. Really good revenge drama but tough first couple of episodes because of the unfairness of it all. JCW’s sweet and innocent character went through a lot. Once the revenge part picked up so did the drama but the ending felt flat after everything they went through.

Last Summer – Just finished this. Fairly cute but took a long time to warm up to the FL whose attitude was really annoying for half of the drama. Enjoyed the secondary couple’s romance a bit more.

Spirit Fingers – watched a few minutes of this each night after heavier dramas. It was cute but the FL was so riddled with self doubt – totally understandable for her age – but at my age frustrating to watch.

Definitely a busy November! It looks like you got in a good variety. Would You Marry Me looks really cute and is on my short list. Still considering Typhoon Family and Miss Incognito.

I’m interested in The Manipulated. Is it very gritty in terms of violence? I never know what to expect with the darker Netflix dramas, but would love to check it out if it’s not too crazy.
