Korean Drama Update for September 2026

September brought me more fun dramas. It was the mystery thriller Big Mouth, the time travel romance My Royal Nemesis, and the business body swap Reborn Rookie that kept things interesting. Here’s how they went:

Big Mouth

Big Mouth Korean Drama - Lee Jong Suk

Big Mouth was a fun drama. The story is fast-paced and filled with suspense all the way through. There are a lot of fun twists and turns along the way too. I enjoyed all of the prison power dynamics, shifting loyalties, and just trying to survive. We have a fantastic cast that delivered great performances.

Something to keep in mind with this drama is that it’s a bit far-fetched and over the top at times. It’s a story to not take too seriously and to just try and roll with some of the logic stretches. If you can do that, it’s a very fun and thrilling ride. Big Mouth was enjoyable all the way through. (Big Mouth Review)

My Royal Nemesis

My Royal Nemesis Korean Drama - Lim Ji Yeon

My Royal Nemesis was a decent watch. It does some good things, and it does some not so good things. It all kind of balances out to an okay drama. Of course, I’m a sucker for time slip dramas. So, I was definitely there for a Joseon villainous being transported to modern Korea with the fun fish-out-of-water shenanigans.

Overall, My Royal Nemesis is a fairly pleasant drama, though it was a bit slow for me, and I found the plot lacking. The chemistry between our main couple was good though a bit circular. The family power struggle story was okay but not plotted the best. You’ll just have to give it a try to see how you fare. (My Royal Nemesis Review)

Reborn Rookie

Reborn Rookie was an interesting and somewhat complicated watch for me as I had very mixed feelings towards it. It’s a body swap drama with the plot centered around a family corporate power struggle. And for the most part, I think it’s a really well done series.

It has a solid story that mixes humor with some fun dramatics that lean soapy at times. There are some interesting character journeys and the exploration of complicated family issues. The pacing for the show was good all the way through with the story feeling fleshed out enough.

The story’s heavy focus on business politics was not to my tastes though as was the exclusion of one half of the body swap. So while it’s not completely my cup of tea, I would say check it out if you like these types of stories. (Full Review Coming Soon)

So how was September for you?

Yay! I definitely remember you 😊 Yes, it’s been a few years I think, but you always had such great summaries of your thoughts on dramas. It’s so good to hear from you again! So your back to dramas? Are you finding anything fun to watch after the break?

The only Kdrama I was able to finish in September was My Bias/My Boss. I enjoyed it. Fairly run of the mill but entertaining.

On the C-drama front I started/dropped Never-Ending Summer which may be up your alley as it’s got all the angsty goodness I think you like 😉

Watched The Early Spring (twice!!!) as it was the most entertaining drama I’ve watched in months! Even read the written version and plan to re-read.

Also finished How Dare You! and enjoyed way more than I expected to. Loved the ending to that one so much 🙂

Just started You Are My Glory (lots of fast forwarding so far). I think I’ll finish it since I’m about halfway through.

My Bias, My Boss looks cute. It’s on my list.

Oooh, angsty goodness is right up my alley! Will check more into Never-Ending Summer 😊

Could you tell me more about what type of drama The Early Spring is? I looked it up but wasn’t sure of the overall vibe. Sounds like a lot of people loved it though, and you watching it twice has me curious!

    Hello Kay!

Here are the dramas I’ve finished last September 2026, to my SAVEtember edition, with my corresponding personal ratings to these shows.

    Phantom Lawyer (8)

    Mousetrap (7.5)

    Black Knight (6)

    Tomorrow (6.75)

    Twinkling Watermelon (10)

The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call (7.5)

    *Unlocked [Movie] (B)

-The Manipulated [DROPPED at Ep 6]

My Savetember edition features shows with main leads saving people. We have the ghost-seeing Phantom Lawyer, the heroes in the corrupt hospital, The Trauma Code. We also have dystopian Black Knight where jobs like the deliverymen becomes super important.
I also finished Tomorrow, this drama is all about the Grim Reapers suicidal team who prevents suicidal people.
My dear Ryu Jun Yeol is also outstanding in Mousetrap. That was one hella rollercaster ride of a kdrama!
I had to drop The Manipulated in ep 6 because I just lost my interest to the Show in the middle despite all the thrills and actions. I guess it was my love for Ji Changwook that kept me on the Show midway.
My Top 1 this month and quickly became one of my favorites is Twinkling Watermelon! I really am a sucker for time travel kdramas especially if it’s done well. I really love everything in this cute and warm drama. 😍

So that’s all for my Savetember 2026! It was quite full-packed, but my
October will be even bigger! 😁🙂

Hello! Yay for another MyKDramaticLife update (SAVEtember Edition)! Looks like you had a thrilling time 😊

I did complete The Manipulated but just found it okay. I was mostly there for Ji chhang Wook too, hehe. Also, I love your top pick! Twinkling Watermelon is amazing! I too am a sucker for time travel kdramas, but this was so much more and so heartwarming.

I’m glad you’re back at it racking up the dramas! 😄
