Choi Woo Shik (Would You Marry Me?) and Moon Ga Young (Law and the City) are set to star in the upcoming Korean drama Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid. Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid is set in 1926 during the Japanese Occupation and follows the story of an independence activist who is rescued from the sea by the servant of a pro-Japanese family that is robbed of her voice and sets out for revenge.
Choi Woo Shik will play the independence activist with Moon Ga Young as the servant. The drama is based on a webtoon that retells The Little Mermaid.
Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid plans to air in 2027 on tvN.
