Korean Drama Update for April 2026

I watched the romantic comedy Would You Marry Me? and the mental health focused romantic comedy Mad for Each Other for the month of April. Here’s how they went:

Would You Marry Me?

Would You Marry Me? was a mostly light romantic comedy with a fun premise. I liked the unique situation that pulls our couple together with Woo Ju sharing the same name as Me Ri’s ex and pretending to be married. I did really love Woo Ju and Me Ri as a couple.

Pacing was an issue, and the drama did feel like it spread itself a little thin as a whole. It wanted to cultivate the main romance, a secondary romance, office shenanigans, family drama, shady business happenings, and issues with the Me Ri’s ex.

But overall, Would You Marry Me? has plenty of interesting plot elements, and the romance is super cute. Although it didn’t completely click with me, I did mostly enjoy it. (Would You Marry Me? Review)

Mad for Each Other

Mad for Each Other was a fun and breezy watch. It’s a mostly humorous drama that really plays up a lot of our main couples’ quirks, and they are the highlight of the series for sure. Jung Woo and Oh Yeon Seo are certainly an interesting couple. They go through a lot of ups and downs on their healing journey.

The pacing was good as it flipped between the comedy and the more serious side of the show. It did well at tackling mental health issues including PTSD, OCD, and anger issues in a more light-hearted fashion. Mad for Each Other was a solid drama all around. (Mad for Each Other Review)

So how was April for you?

Happy drama watching to everyone!

    I only finished In Your Radiant Season in April as I am now fully onto cdramas. This was a was fantastic series if you’re looking for a healing drama with incredibly sweet romances for all 3 sisters and their uber fashionable grandmother. Green flags everywhere you look!

    I have 4 kdramas lined up for May – Perfect Crown, Yumi Cells 3, Filing for Love, and Sold Out on You. Perfect Crown and Yumi Cells were so good in their first 4 episodes that i can’t wait week to week for them so will wait them out to binge.

    [SPOILERS below] I watched 4 cdramas:

    Fall in Love – good but not great. Too low budget and some of the actors are clearly green (a bit young and inexperienced) which was distracting. The ML carried the drama. Overall I’m glad I watched because I love Chen XingXu and am in the process of watching more of his dramas after Love Between Lines but didn’t make it on to the rewatch list;

    When I fly towards you – very slow to start but by the end found the couple and the friend group so adorable that I was wishing for more episodes . Very well done happy ending;

    The Princess Royal – wanted another Zhang LingHe drama after Pursuit of Jade but too much palace stuff and not enough romance for me. Still very good tho);

    My Little Happiness – cute rom com but the way the FL acted – shy and standoffish – reminded me too much of how FLs behave in Kdramas so did not love;

    The Double – excellent revenge drama but as I was looking for a romance and this had maybe 20% romance. The ML only shows up for 1 maybe 2 scenes per episode. It was a drama focused mostly on the FLs revenge story which was very good but not what I wanted. And sad ending!!!!!!!! Ugh! I had even googled it before watching and they said it was open ended with a tacked on happy ending but that was complete BS. That stayed with me for days after watching and I am so annoyed. I need to be more careful in future.

    Almost finished with Prisoner of Beauty (LOVE) and just started Our Generation.

      I’m interested in Your Radiant Season, but am hesitant with “healing” dramas. They usually feel really bittersweet and depressing. What’s the overall tone with it?

      Love your success with cdramas! I do have a couple of your on my list: The Double and The Princess Royal.

      Good luck with Our Generation, Perfect Crown, Yumi Cells 3, Filing for Love, and Sold Out on You!
