Choi Woo Shik (Melo Movie) and Moon Ga Young (Law and the City) are considering lead roles in the new Korean drama Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid. Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid is set in 1926 during the Japanese Occupation and follows the story of an independence activist who runs a photo studio and the servant of a pro-Japanese family who loves the sea and believes she is a fish but is robbed of her voice and sets out for revenge.
Choi Woo Shik would play the independence activist with Moon Ga Young as the servant. The drama is based on a webtoon that retells The Little Mermaid.
Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid is looking to air sometime in 2026.
