Lee Se Young (Motel California) has been offered a lead role in the upcoming Korean drama The Remarried Empress. The Remarried Empress is based on the web novel of the same name about an empress of the Eastern kingdom who learns that the emperor plans to make his mistress the empress instead, so she divorces him and sets out to become an empress of the Western Kingdom.
Lee Se Young would play a runaway slave who becomes the mistress of the Eastern emperor. Still considering the other lead roles are Lee Jong Suk (Big Mouth) as the emperor of the Western kingdom, Shin Min Ah (No Gain, No Love) as the empress, and Joo Ji Hoon (The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call) as the emperor of the Eastern kingdom.
The Remarried Empress has plans to air sometime later in 2025.
