Romance by Romance is web drama about a woman (Lee Eun Bi) struggling to stay in a long-term relationship whose boyfriend (Cha Hun) breaks up with her just before the 100 day mark, so she negotiates a contract with him to stay together for another month. During this time, she also enters a contract with her best friend (Kim Jin Woo) and begins to question things while her previous boyfriend starts feeling jealous.
Lee Eun Bi plays Ha Yoon. All of her past relationships end before even reaching the 100 day mark, so she feels doomed to never find love. Determined to break the cycle, after her boyfriend breaks up with her, she enters a contract with him to stay together for a month.
Cha Hun is Nam Tae Ryun. He is Ha Yoon’s boyfriend. He reluctantly enters into the one month contract with her, but to his surprise, he eventually starts feeling jealous of her relationship with her friend.
Kim Jin Woo is Han Kang Jin. He is Ha Yoon’s best friend. After her boyfriend breaks up with her, he too enters into a dating contract with her which makes his one-sided feelings for her even more complicated.
Romance by Romance is a short mini drama. It’s a fluff piece that is pretty basic, but all around it’s decent. As far as web dramas go, this one has a nice little story. Of course, things happen quickly, but it’s pretty well developed.
There’s a bit of comedy and a dash of drama. We even get a bit of character development in the short run time. Relationships are explored between Ha Yoon and Tae Ryun as well as her and Kang Jin. Ha Yoon has a lot of feelings to explore and things to figure out about herself.
Romance by Romance is a decent quick drama if you enjoy love triangles and the friends-to-lovers trope. It’s light and fun with a simple but developed plot. It’s a good fit for an easy filler in between other dramas.
My Rating: 6/10
