Soundtrack #1 Korean Drama - Park Hyung Sik and Han So Hee

Soundtrack #1 is a music romance that tells the story of a photographer (Park Hyung Sik) who ends up living with his best friend who is a lyricist (Han So Hee) as he helps her write a song. In the process, the pair begin exploring their feelings for each other.

Park Hyung Sik plays Han Sun Woo who is a photographer.  He’s been close with his best friend Eun Soo for almost 20 years, but he’s actually been harboring feelings for her for a long time.

Han So Hee is Lee Eun Soo who is a lyricist. When she has trouble writing a song, she recruits Sun Woo to help her, and in the process, she starts to see their relationship in a different way.

Soundtrack #1 is a short 4 episode drama that was a decent watch. It’s very basic as we get a straightforward friends-to-lovers story. Both Sun Woo and Eun Soo begin to explore their feelings for each other and what their relationship means too them.

The drama has a sort of melancholy tone but is pretty light overall. It also has a more realistic, slice of life feel to it. It does pretty well at diving into Sun Woo and Eun Soo’s heads as we get to know them as individuals as well as what they are together.

Their friendship is nice to see, particularly how supportive they are of each other. Most of their interactions are on a friend level, but things start to cross into romance territory as we explore their thought processes about each other and get to have some cute moments between them.

I did have a common issue with this drama which is one I have with many short dramas. It took several episodes to really get into it and have a more in depth understanding of the characters. And well, by then, there was only one episode left. I tend to like having a bit more time to explore things kinds of things, especially in very character driven dramas.

Overall, it’s a nice enough watch if you want something simple with a good friends-to-lovers story without any fluff. The music is pretty good too which always helps. All in all, it’s a sweet romance.

My Rating: 6.5/10

This wasn’t one of my favorites. Too slow and felt blah throughout. Just re-watched You Drive Me Crazy which is also a short 4 episode drama which was a bit better.

Agree, definitely slow and a bit meh. I did enjoy the exploration of their relationship which made it an okay watch overall. Not super memorable though.

I needed something simple after watching Pinocchio but unfortunately I don’t see it on Netflix nor Viki. 8-(

Yeah, it’s only on Disney+ which is too bad 🙁

We didn’t have as much time as I would have liked to go really deep with the characters, but overall, the drama did well with the time it had, and it was a sweet little romance.
