I’m looking forward to dramas 1 – 6 from this list. For once, most of the dramas coming out this month are not crime related or procedural. yay!! ๐Ÿ™‚ (except secret forest 2 but that’s ok).

    1. Kay Avatar

That looks like a pretty good bunch and I hope to check out several of them too. Yes, it’s nice that we have a good selection this time with rom coms, melos, and sci-fi in addition to the crime stuff ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Snow Flower Avatar
    Snow Flower

Alice and Flower of Evil look very promising. There are also the 2 piano dramas. I will wait for word of mouth on all of them.

    Currently watching:
Its Okay Not to be Okay – 4 episodes left! One of the best dramas I have seen so far. I hope the ending is good.
The King 2 Hearts – Lee Seung Gi and Jo Jung Suk. Enough said…

    1. Kay Avatar

Alice and Flower of Evil are on my for sure watch list. Because of my soft spot for music dramas, I too will be keeping an eye on those two with hopes that they look promising.

I’m watching It’s Okay to Not Be Okay next and I’m so excited for it! I hope the remaining episodes play out well for you ๐Ÿ™‚

And The King 2 Hearts! I love that drama. Another Lee Seung Gi classic that I only think fondly of ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Timescout Avatar

FoS2 for sure! ๐Ÿ˜€ Maybe Alice and Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol (what a mouthful!) as well. We’ll see.

    1. Kay Avatar

Hopefully, Forest of Secrets 2 continues your drama streak! Yes, Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol is certainly a mouthful. That one would be an awkward one to have to talk about in real like with a name like that, lol

So hard to choose from these potential premiers. When I Was the Prettiest is my August pick. The melo feels it has is I think into my taste. Hmm, will surely watch Alice (my time travel ๐Ÿ˜) And will consider Do You Like Brahms and Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol, mainly for these amazing actresses: Park Eun Bin and Go Ara.

    1. Kay Avatar

When I Was the Prettiest was a close second for me. I’m ready for that melo feel myself, hehe. Alice for the time travel thriller and the two music dramas I will be keeping an eye out for since I have a soft spot for them. We definitely have some good choices this month ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah, some good and same choices this time around. ๐Ÿ˜€

Meanwhile here are the dramas that I’m watching for August:

    (August 2020: Romantic Thrilling August)

    Backstreet Rookie (watched episode 11/16)
Been patiently waiting for my oppa Chang Wook’s every new drama. And being paired with Kim Yoo Jung is a super plus! Backstreet Rookie really clicked on me with its comic comedies and lil heartwarming life lessons on top of its romance. Now at episode 12 and I’m gonna miss this Convenient Store couple. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

    She Knows Everything (Done watching)
Ms. Lee and Lieutenant In have a great nonromantic chemistry. The mystery solving is good enough to keep me interested and play detective with our leads. As it’s only a short series, it’s being fast-paced is also a gpod point.

Tell Me What You Saw (watched ep. 11/16)
A one-of-a-kind crime thriller drama. Every episode is exciting and there is always that “I didn’t see that coming” twists. So amazed to have seen Jang Hyuk in an immobile role, since he always had those quirky and full-of-action types of roles, so it’s quite a surprise to see him as a paralyzed ex-profiler. And that female lead is also very good. I’m very convinced so far in her portrayal. Now here’s me getting all excited to see it more and see who The Guy is.

Psycho But It’s Okay (watched ep. 6/16)
Kim Soo Hyun is back after 5 years! And this drama really becomes a hit not just to me, but to most viewers overall. So far, I loved everyone’s acting and portrayal. Even the supporting characters really do their parts so satisfyingly. Now at episode ‘6 and I’m loving it so far.

To All the Guys Who Loved Me (watched ep. 7/16)
You really can expect a 100% FUN in a romcom if it stars the ever quirky Hwang Jung Eum. She really is my Romcom Queen. To All the Guys who Loved Me has two great and handsome men in the persons of Seo Ji Hoon and Yoon Hyun Min, so it really is a headache to choose who to ship our Jung Eum with. Combined with the fantasy elements of the show, it adds more excitement to it.

    Train (watched ep. 6/12)
Yoon Shi Yoon. ๐Ÿ˜ I’m not used to his serious profile in this drama. But gosh! He’s doing great once again. Aside from its very potential casts, Train also has an all-packed elements of a great drama – suspense/thriller, mystery, bits of romance and fantasy. Very OCN-ey! With that, I know I’m going to like this one. And so did I.

The King: Eternal Monarch (watched: 2/16)
The King Lee Min Ho is finally back! And I’m now late for all those hypes in the Dramaland.
So far so far with lots of many interesting and fun characters, The King: Eternal Monarch is off to a good and interesting start.

    Fightingmida! ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Snow Flower Avatar
      Snow Flower

Psycho But It’s Okay is quite something! I have 2 more episodes to go. If the ending is good, it will be a classic.
Yoon Shi Yoon was really great in a very serious role in Nokdu Flower. I have not seen Train yet, but I am sure he is good.

    2. MyKDramaticLife Avatar
      MyKDramaticLife

I too am enjoying Psycho But It’s Okay.
I’m only waiting to accumulate its complete episodes to continue and finish it at once.
And yeah YSY is so damn great in Train. Plus factor if you’re into OCN dramas.

    3. Kay Avatar

It is a romantic, thrilling August for you! Aww, good to hear that you’re enjoying Backstreet Rookie. And I’m happy to hear such positive things about To All the Guys Who Loved Me. I can’t wait to see Hwang jung Eum again so soon with two other actors I really like in Yoon Hyun Min and Seo Ji Hoon. I’m sure my heart will be torn!

And Train! I’m really excited for that one. I know Yoon Shi Yoon will be amazing. He’s bringing me over to OCN for a change for some big thrills!

The King: Eternal Monarch was a fun watch. I know you’ll let me know how it goes for you. I’m curious since fans were all over the place on that one, hehe

I just started Psycho But It’s Okay and love it so far! This one could be special ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. MyKDramaticLife Avatar
        MyKDramaticLife

Am loving Psycho But It’s Okay and Backstreet Rookie from my August list. ๐Ÿ˜
Hmm, second love to Tell Me What You Saw (Just finished it yesterday). But are you just passing by a Jang Hyuk’s amazing performance in Tell Me? Hehe. I know you’re a big fan of him, so was just wondering. ๐Ÿ˜Š

        1. Kay Avatar

Haha, you noticed I didn’t mention it, huh? Right you are, I am in a big fan of Jang Hyuk ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve been undecided on Tell Me though. I am quite picky on my crime thrillers and aside from Jang Hyuk being in it, it hadn’t really caught my attention. I’ve been consistently hearing good things about it though. My questions would be: Is it strongly serialized rather than episodic? and Is it very gritty or just normal crime stuff?

          1. MyKDramaticLife Avatar
            MyKDramaticLife

It is brutal but isn’t entirely gritty.
It’s more of the serialized part. It has very few episodic guest killer in between to spice the show up, but they’re mostly entertaining.
Since I also really watched crime dramas very oftenly, Tell Me has been entertaining and engaging enough to keep me watching.

          2. Kay Avatar

I guess I’ll have to look into a bit more to see if I think it would be too brutal for me, since it does sound like a promising drama. For instance, I watched Voice for Jang Hyuk, and it was a decent drama, but it was way more brutal than I go for! lol

  6. Annonymous Avatar

The reason that I’m breathing right now is because of korean dramas… At first I hate korean dramas. Korean dramas change my life, it made me cry and it gaves me morals in life.

    1. Kay Avatar

Aww, that’s so amazing to hear what a difference kdramas have made in your life ๐Ÿ™‚ I really understand because they have made a huge impact on my life too, and I’m very grateful to have found them ๐Ÿ™‚
