Selection - Girls' War Korean Drama - Jin Se Yeon

Here’s another good trailer for the upcoming historical drama Queen: Love and War (also known as Selection: Girls’ War) starring Jin Se Yeon (Item) and Kim Min Kyu (Perfume). It has plenty of tension as Kim Min Kyu is haunted by his dreams, Jin Se Yeon is out to uncover a mystery, and the two have a tense meeting. Looks exciting!

Queen: Love and War is about the women involved in an intense competition to become the queen. One of the women (Jin Se Yeon) only wants to become queen to discover the truth about her twin sister’s murder.

Queen: Love and War is scheduled to premiere December 14 on TV Chosun.

This looks very promising. But why did queen candidates wear those ridiculous headpieces?

Well, they’ll definitely grab your attention, lol. I’m sure there’s some specific reason since traditional Korean clothing tends to have meanings. I agree, the drama does look promising 🙂

I saw similar headgear in Dong Yi, when female characters were proclaimed queen cosort or a highest rank concubine. The good news is that the ugly headgear was not worn at all times!

I still get a kick out of the men’s head pieces when they become Crown Prince, King, or get married. Took me a bit to get used to it. The ladies’ pieces might take a bit longer though, lol
