The Tale of Nokdu Korean Drama - Kim So Hyun

New trailers are out for the upcoming Korean historical drama The Tale of Nokdu (or Mung Bean Chronicles) starring Jang Dong Yoon (Just Dance) and Kim So Hyun (Love Alarm).

Kim So Hyun takes the lead in the first one as we learn a little about her personality. She’s got a lot of spirit! The next trailer features a humorous game between her and Jang Dong Yoon.

The Tale of Nokdu is about a man (Jang Dong Yoon) who disguises himself as a woman to live among a community of women so that he won’t have to get married and a hot-tempered woman (Kim So Hyun) who is reluctantly training to be a gisaeng.

The Tale of Nokdu is scheduled to premiere September 30 on KBS.

Hi kay! I Know it’s been so long since I dropped a comment.

I’m looking forward to this so much. I have a Kim Soo Hyun hangover since Love Alarm Season 2 hasn’t been released yet ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Life has been hectic but your blog is one of the reasons why I can still manage to keep up to date with all the recent dramas. Again Thank you!

Right now I’m finishing up Chicago Typewriter. I didn’t realise what all the hype was until now. Im at episode 15 and its simply amazing. I was wondering if you wrote a review for this one so I could read what you thought of it as well.

    Thanks:)

Hi Eva! Good to hear from you ๐Ÿ™‚ Aww, thank you! I’m so glad the blog helps you keep up to date ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s also great that you’re enjoying Chicago Typewriter so much. I do have a review for it on the site. It was a bit of a mixed bag for me as there were some strong positives and negatives together. Mostly due to my own personal tastes. But it was easy to see why most people loved it so much since it really is a unique drama ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m also really looking forward to a new Kim So Hyun drama! I’m holding off on Love Alarm until I can watch both seasons at once. So I may be seeing her in The Tale of Nokdu first.

Your blog is one of my go to blogs especially if I need to catch up. ๐Ÿ™‚

Once Im done watching the final episode, i’ll go check your review out. Our own personal tastes makes reviews more interesting since we all have a different take on things. I’ll make sure to leave a comment there.

It is a wise decision to holding off and refrain yourself from watching love alarm as of the moment. Such a cliff hanger! But no worries, I am not here to spoil. Its a great drama ๐Ÿ™‚

I forgot to ask, what are the dramas that keeps you pre occupied now a days?

I’ll look forward to hearing your thoughts on Chicago Typewriter ๐Ÿ™‚ Yep, that’s why I held off on Love Alarm. Netflix keeps basically splitting up one drama into 2 seasons. Now that I have that figured out, I know to wait, lol.

I recently completed Hotel Del Luna which was pretty good and a big hit among fans. You might check out my review on that one to see if it sounds like it fits your tastes. Also completed My First First Love which was cute and am now halfway through Arthdal Chronicles which is pretty interesting for sure. I’m working hard to get in all of these dramas I want to see, but it’s a losing battle!

I posted my take on Chicago typewriter. I hope you saw that one.

Netflix is very sly that way. I should learn to hold off next time. But the leads from love alarm are so handsome. And they are good at acting as well. ๐Ÿ˜Šโค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜

My first first love was so cute. It was such a relaxing drama and I enjoyed it very well. I canโ€™t wait for your review also. I am a sucker for best friends turned lover storylines. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I havenโ€™t started watching Arthdal chronicles since Iโ€™m waiting for it to be completed. Is it like a game of thrones spin off? I remember that was what most people said when it started.

Hotel de Luna is definitely on the list. I wanna see what the hype was all about.

So many great dramas. The industry is really hyping up their game. Which is a good thing๐Ÿ˜Š

That they are, lol. Glad you enjoyed My First First Love too ๐Ÿ™‚ Arthdal Chronicles just ended this past weekend, so it’s all ready to go. I’ve not seen Game of Thrones, but I’ve seen enough promotional material to think that they have a similar look and tone to them. The shows aren’t really connected though. It definitely has a different feel than a normal historical which adds a little something special to it ๐Ÿ™‚

Viki informed me that the show is not licensed in my region. Maybe things will change in one week…?

    • Kay says:

That’s what Viki is showing for me too. But since they at least have it some regions, I’m really hoping that last minute license comes through for us too. It’s likely to a popular drama among international fans, so there’s good reason for someone to pick it up if possible.

The Tale of Nokdu just became licensed in the US. Does it show as available for you too?
