Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung Koran Drama - Cha Eun Woo and Shin Se Kyung

Here’s a new cute trailer for the upcoming Korean drama Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung starring ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo (My ID is Gangnam Beauty) and Shin Se Kyung (Black Knight). It features a humorous interaction between our lovebirds, and I’m already liking what I’m seeing!

Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung is about 19th century women who faced prejudice for being writers of historical records. One historian (Shin Se Kyung) works to establish her place and meets a lonely prince (Cha Eun Woo) who lives a double life as a romance novelist.

Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung is scheduled to premiere July 17 on MBC.

I watched the first 2 episodes and it was delightful! I felt SKK Scandal vibes instantly and that was a good thing. I like the lighthearted tone, but it seems that the show is going to explore some serious issues (book banning) as well.

Oh that’s so good to hear! The Sungkyunkwan Scandal vibes is definitely a plus a in my book 🙂 I thought it looked like it would be light and fun in the beginning. Most historicals get more serious as they go along, but that’s fine with me. I’m excited to start it and hope you continue to enjoy it 🙂

I am currently juggling 3 dramas (this one, One Spring Night, and Queen for 7 Days), and I am also thinking about starting Designated Survivor:60 Days. Plus, there is Mr. Temporary, and Nokdu Flower, and couple of others as well, but that will mean getting yet another subscription…Gone are the days of Dramafever when everything I wanted to watch was available on one streaming service…

You are keeping busy! Queen for 7 Days was a great drama. Hope you enjoy it! I’ve also got Designated Survivor and Nokdu Flower on my list. I’m probably going to get a one month subscription to Kocowa just for Nokdu Flower. I feel you though. I miss the days where everything was in one place. Two was doable, but now we’re getting spread pretty thin.
