Song Joong Ki, Jang Dong Gun, and Lots of Action in New Trailers for “Arthdal Chronicles”

Arthdal Chronicles Korean Drama - Song Joong Ki

Let’s check back in with some trailers for the new Korean drama Arthdal Chronicles (or Asadal) starring Song Joong Ki (Descendants of the Sun), Kim Ji Won (Fight for My Way), Jang  Dong Gun (Suits), and Kim Ok Bin (Children of a Lesser God).

Song Joong Ki gets the spotlight in the first one with some thrills and intensity. We also get a brief look at a distraught Kim Ji Won. Jang Dong Gun gets the focus in the second as the intensity continues. This just keeps looking awesome!

Arthdal Chronicles is an epic historical set in ancient times with a story that blends myth and history as a power struggle ensues during the founding of the nation of Gojoseon. It comes from the writers of Six Flying Dragons and Tree With Deep Roots.

Arthdal Chronicles is scheduled to premiere June 1 on tvN.

    The more I read about this drama the more ridiculous it sounds. 😀 I know it’s set in a time period of which very little is known but still, the costuming/styling looks kind ‘off’ on the whole. Well, it’s a fantasy so I guess we can give it some leeway. Definitely not going to watch this as it airs. I want to know if it goes south… or not, before committing any of my precious time for it. 🙂

      Haha, yeah, I definitely don’t think they are trying to be historically accurate in any way. I think since so little is known about the time, they are taking that freedom to really play up the fantasy elements, especially since historical kdramas don’t usually have that luxury. I’m mostly glad we are seeing something quite different.

      I understand waiting for it to be completed (I do that all of the time anyways since I hate waiting week to week, hehe). I’m certainly curious to see what the overall reaction will be. These writers are well liked by most, so I’m hoping that works in the dramas favor 🙂
