Her Private Life Korean Drama - Kim Jae Wook and Park Min Young

The upcoming Korean drama Her Private Life starring Kim Jae Wook (Hand: The Guest) and Park Min Young (What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim) is about to premiere! And to get ready, we’ve got an almost 4 minute long highlight trailer that has been released to get us even more excited. It is seriously a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see this all play out!

Her Private Life is a romantic comedy about an idol fangirl (Park Min Young) who has been passionate about her idols for many years. She works as a curator at an art museum and tries to hide her fangirl side, but her secret becomes in jeopardy of being exposed after a new director (Kim Jae Wook) arrives.

Her Private Life is scheduled to premiere April 10 on tvN.

I still don’t understand the big deal about being a fan while being an adult. I listen to a couple of podcasts hosted by Korean-American/Korean-Canadian/Chinese-Americans where the hosts talk about their mothers (and sometimes, dads) being fans of certain actors or singers and it seems very normal. I imagine it’s really more of an exaggerated reaction for tv drama – but what can I say, my mom still fangirls over Tom Selleck. She’s 86.

Yeah, I find it strange too since any age can be a fan of someone. But from what I gather, I think the stigma is more around idol fans which are known for being extremely dedicated to one person or group. South Korea seems to have a very intense fan culture which some can see as obsessive. I think most are accepting of any age being a “regular” fan of a group or actor, but it’s the more dedicated ones whose lives seem to revolve around their idols that people feel is more of a teen thing. Of course, you can always count of TV to play things up though since it’s a great source of humor, hehe 😉

I’m glad we finally get him as a lead in a rom-com. He looks great with Park Min Young 🙂

Exactly. I’m so tired of seeing him not get the girl. It’s finally his time to shine 😊

I think things will go well for him this time around 🙂

Oooh, good to hear you’re liking it. It’s the hot drama right now, so I’m super curious to check it out (planning to watch it next after I finish Eulachacha Waikiki 2). I love my girl Park Min Young, and I’m excited that Kim Jae Wook is finally a lead too 🙂

I loved loved loved the first Waikiki but couldn’t get into the 2nd round. Will need to give it more time. And OMG am I loving Her Private Life! I waited and waited to start it so I wouldn’t end up having to watch week to week but I watched it too quickly and got caught up so now I hafta wait 🙁 PMY has amazing chemistry with all of her co-stars and KJW is no different. She’s a gem and he’s adorable!

Aww, that’s sad 🙁 I thought it felt exactly like the first season so I got into it within the first 10 minutes. Plus, Lee Yi Kyung is a hilarious gem, hehe.

I’ve been holding out on Her Private Life too, very anxious to watch it as everybody is buzzing about it. Yes, Park Min Young is exceptional in the chemistry department. I don’t know if she just picks good partners or if she brings it out in whoever she works with. Either way, she’ll be good.

I’m glad I finally get to start the drama though. Crossing my fingers it works out a bit better for me than What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim though. She and Park Seo Joon were sizzling in that, but the was rest pretty meh. I want to love it! lol 🙂

Completely agree with you about Secretary Kim but HPL has a bit more of both fun and heft to it I think. I haven’t felt “meh” at any point 😉

Oh that’s so good to hear! I’ve avoided anything spoilery, but all the general buzz very much reminded of Secretary Kim, so I’ve been crossing my fingers that it will keep the good from that while adding a bit more heft to it. No to meh! hehe
