The Crowned Clown Korean Drama - Yeo Jin Goo

We only got one episode of The Crowned Clown (also known as Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King) starring Yeo Jin Goo and Lee Se Young this week due to the Lunar New Year holiday. After hitting a series high last week, it saw a decrease in Nielsen drama ratings this week by bringing in 6.6% for episode 9. Hopefully, it will recover next week!

The Crowned Clown follows the story of a king (Yeo Jin Goo) who fears for his life so he brings in a kind look-a-like clown to stand in for him. A love triangle will also ensue between the two and the queen (Lee Se Young).

The Crowned Clown airs Monday and Tuesday on tvN.

I have only heard so many good things about this drama and so this is a shame.

I’m pretty much only hearing good things about the drama too. Since last week it had a series high and went over 9%, I’m really hoping it was just the Lunar New Year holiday that caused the decrease. Crossing my fingers it will bounce back next week!

        Here’s hoping too. 😃

I can see you are currently watching the last empress. So am I. What do you think of it so far?

I just started it last night and watched the first 4 half eps. Initial first impressions…it seems like my kind of drama! I’ve been hoping for some super crazy makjang and this seems like it for sure. When I heard it was from the PD of Return, I thought I had an idea of what to expect. And it feels exactly like Return. And Shin Sung Rok’s even there! lol. It’s still early, but I’m hopeful 🙂

I’ve seen 8 episodes so far and it’s not clicking with me yet. I normally love makjang but I don’t know what to make of this.

I think sometimes that just happens. I know I’ve had times where it seemed like a drama had everything I would love and it’s really hard to pinpoint exactly why it’s not clicking. It sounds like you’re right around that point where it will either click soon or it probably won’t at all. I hope it either does click for you or you’re quickly confident that it might be best to move on. I also have a lot of experience hanging around a drama I don’t love for far too long, lol

Yes – you are right. I really want to love this one but really hard to pinpoint exactly why it’s not working for me. I will hold on for a few more episodes and I will move on. 🙂
