“The Last Empress” Gets 4 Episode Extension

The Last Empress (An Empress' Dignity) Korean Drama - Shin Sung Rok, Jang Na Ra, Choi Jin Hyuk

It seems that The Last Empress starring Jang Na Ra, Shin Sung Rok, and Choi Jin Hyuk is getting an extension! It has had quite a successful run, so it really is no surprise they would want to extend that. This will bring the dramas total to 52 of the short episodes.

The Last Empress is set in a fictional South Korea which operates under a constitutional monarchy. It follows a musical actress (Jang Na Ra) who marries the emperor (Shin Sung Rok) and becomes involved in the palace power struggle and a mysterious murder.

The Last Empress airs Wednesday and Thursday on SBS.

  It has won its time slot every week of its run with some pretty good numbers. I haven’t started it yet either, but I have it third up on my watch list. So I’m anxious to dive in! 🙂

        Im sure Shin Sung Rok will provide all kinds of crazy. He did in Return I’m sure he will here as well. He’s such an amazing actor.

        That we can always count on. Shin Sung Rok is one of my favorite villains (although he’s great at being funny and sweet too). I loved him in Return and this drama has the same PD, so he seems to know how to do crazy, lol

        Yes! When they announced the drama I was so thrilled to hear the Return PD was leading it. And I could see why he would want to work with Shin Sung Rok again. This PD seems to have a knack for crazy, so I’m with you in being excited 🙂
