Ji Jin Hee Confirms Starring Role in Korean Remake of “Designated Survivor”

Designated Survivor Korean Drama - Ji Jin Hee

I’m really interested to see Korea’s take on this story, and it looks like we now have a solid lead secured for the main role. Ji Jin Hee (Misty) has been confirmed for the new Korean drama remake of the American series Designated Survivor. He will play the Minister of Environment who is unexpectedly thrust into the role of president.

Designated Survivor follows the story of the Minister of Environment (Ji Jin Hee) who is 12th in line of succession and must take over as president following a terror attack that takes out everyone ahead of him.

Designated Survivor is looking to air in the first half of 2019 on tvN.

I tried watching the American version and didn’t really care for it. Might give this a shot when it comes out.

I liked the first season of the American version, but the second season lost my interest. I’d like to see this version give it a some of that heart that Korean dramas are known for.
