Are you watching my strange hero? I am .

    1. Kay Avatar

Not yet, but I plan to when more eps are out 🙂

  2. Eva Avatar

Are you watching less than evil? How is it for you?

    1. Kay Avatar

No, I’m not watching that one since I don’t usually go for the darker crime dramas. Are you thinking watching it?

      1. Eva Avatar

It’s definitely on my list. I have a thing for crime dramas most especially those with a serial killer theme. And it’s also a plus if it’s under OCN. 😊

That’s why I enjoyed watching hello monster, tunnel, signal and come and hug me.

I’ll let you know if it’s a must watch. 😊

        1. Kay Avatar

Well, you should be very happy in Dramaland then since there’s a serial killer running around in about every other drama these days, lol 😉 I usually enjoy the serial killer story lines as long as the drama is not to gritty. I loved all the dramas you just named for instance. Heard Less Than Evil was a bit darker though. That makes me a little skittish, lol. But yes, let me know how it goes 🙂

          1. Eva Avatar

I kinda notice that as well. The trend lately in the dramaland are those of historical ones and crime soooo I’m so excited 😊

I usually draw the line with exorcism dramas that’s why I’m kinda scared with the drama the priest.

Once I’m done I’ll tell you . But I’m not so sure when that will be. 😊

          2. Kay Avatar

Yeah, I heard The Priest was pretty scary. That drama combines my two least favorite genres: horror and medical. So that was an easy pass, lol.

I’m glad historical dramas are making a comeback this year though. We only had 3 in all of 2018 which was so disappointing. Now we’ve got about 6 or so just in the first half of the year 🙂

          3. Eva Avatar

Wow I didn’t realise that there were only 3. Haha

I’m not a big fan of medical dramas as well. I’m in the medical field so anything remotely far off from reality turns me off. But doctors was pretty decent.

          4. Kay Avatar

Yep, it was bad for us historical lovers, lol.

Ah, I can see how if you work in the medical field you might just want to not think about it too much in your leisure time. And if your bothered by unrealistic stuff, I know sometimes medical dramas can be a little frustrating there, hehe. I really wanted to see Doctors because of Park Shin Hye, but have avoided it so far just because it’s a medical drama 😛

          5. Eva Avatar

Yes exactly. It’s best to separate work from relaxation. Be a doctor in the hospital, be a kdrama fan at home. Must segregate those two haha

Park shin hye is amazing in any role she’s given. I wasn’t a fan of hers initially buttt she made me a fan. She’s that good.

I do hope you give doctors a shot. It’s not super medical ish. It’s generally about conquering your bad childhood and succeeding in life without connections.

          6. Kay Avatar

Yep, that sounds like a good plan! 🙂 And I agree, I always love Park Shin Hye. She tends to be polarizing as people love her or hate her, but I’ve always thought she was great. I just like her, hehe 🙂

I haven’t totally ruled out Doctors. About once a year or so I do find myself watching a medical drama. I watched Hospital Ship in 2017. I had to grin and bear all the medical stuff, but otherwise, I liked the drama, lol. So I may give Doctors a go someday 🙂

          7. Eva Avatar

I don’t think I could describe park shin hye any better than you did. Polarising. Very appropriate indeed!

Hospital ship then one with Ha Ji Won? How is it?

          8. Kay Avatar

Yes, that’s the one. I liked it for the most part. It was a bit episodic for my tastes and the pacing was on the slow side, but I really liked all of the characters and their personal stories. And they were a fun group over all. Plus, I really liked the unique setting on a ship. The dramas had LOTS of medical emergencies, but I really enjoyed that it had a lot of heart too 🙂

          9. Eva Avatar

I’m not her biggest fan but you’ve had a lot of good things to say about it. So maybe I’ll give it a shot. 😊

          10. Kay Avatar

Haha, well, it’s not one of my favs, but considering it was a medical drama, I was quite pleased with it. I think more people didn’t like it though. The second half gets more dramatic with more focus on the love triangle. Which was a big improvement for me, but not so much everyone else, lol. But since you like love triangles, maybe it would work well for you too! I do have a review on it if you’re still undecided 🙂

          11. Eva Avatar

Ooo… you made a review on that. I’ll definitely look for it and give it a read.

Love triangle. Now you’ve got me curious.

I’m currently busy with sky castle as of the moment. I’m not too far along but it’s definitely promising. And the cast blew me away. Although it’s more on the serious side.

          12. Kay Avatar

Yep, love triangle 🙂 It takes a bit to really kick in, but that’s when I really got on board with the drama.

I wasn’t originally planning to watch Sky Castle, but with all the hype around it, I’m definitely going to have to give it a look. It looks like Viki is actually going to get it soon, so I will check it out there. The cast is quite impressive, and it sounds like it’s pretty dramatic. I’m certainly up for that 🙂

          13. Eva Avatar

Is viu available in your region? It’s premium plan provides real time updates. Sky castle is even in it.

Drama and talent=great plot twist 😊

          14. Kay Avatar

Sadly, it’s not 🙁 We’ve got access to Viki, Kocowa, and Netflix here. Apparently, AT&T had some kind of deal with JTBC when DramaFever was still going. And they seem to still be holding onto many of the licenses possibly in preparation to include them in their new streaming service sometime this year. I think SKY Castle is the first drama I’ve seen in recent months that is breaking out of the JTBC/AT&T dungeon to actually be available on a legal site. I really hope more are to come!

          15. Eva Avatar

Ohhh. Well it’s definitely worth the wait. I hope AT&T provides you content you’ve been waiting for. I’m glad To have discovered viu since it is also offered my postpaid plan. Luckily pretty noona who buys me food was picked up by Netflix.. correct me if I’m wrong. It’s still by jtbc right?

          16. Kay Avatar

Yes, Pretty Noona was JTBC. Netflix has been able to snag a few of their dramas. More older ones, but some new. Netflix seems to primarily go for the cable channels for its newer kdrama content.

          17. Eva Avatar

Oh. Thank you for the information. Im thinking of subscribing to netflix this month. Do you recommend it?

          18. Kay Avatar

It just depends what you like to watch. Their kdramas are still limited compared to the specialized sites, but they are getting more these days, including some newer ones and exclusives like Memories of the Alhambra and Mr. Sunshine. Of course, the biggest plus is the huge catalog of other shows and movies so you get a variety to make up for some of that lack of kdrama. I end up watching about half kdrama and half other shows on it myself 🙂

          19. Eva Avatar

Thank you for the feedback. I think I’m hitting the subscribe button this month. 🙂

          20. Kay Avatar

            You’re very welcome 🙂
