Although Mr. Sunshine starring Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Ri aired as usual this past weekend, the Asian games seemed to have an impact on its Nielsen drama ratings. It saw a pretty big dip to 7.7% for episode 17 on Saturday. But then it saw a huge jump to 14.7% for episode 18 on Sunday which landed it back where it has been in recent weeks. Things should be back to normal this week, so we will see how it fares being back to normal competition.
Mr. Sunshine is set during the early 1900’s and is about the romance of a soldier (Lee Byung Hun) and an aristocrat’s daughter (Kim Tae Ri). As an adult, he then returns to Korea as a soldier during the final years of the Joseon era. It comes from writer Kim Eun Sook of hits such as Goblin and Descendants of the Sun.
