“Mr. Sunshine” Sees Big Decrease Followed By Big Increase in Korean Drama Ratings

Mr. Sunshine Korean Drama - Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Ri

Although Mr. Sunshine starring Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Ri aired as usual this past weekend, the Asian games seemed to have an impact on its Nielsen drama ratings. It saw a pretty big dip to 7.7% for episode 17 on Saturday. But then it saw a huge jump to 14.7% for episode 18 on Sunday which landed it back where it has been in recent weeks. Things should be back to normal this week, so we will see how it fares being back to normal competition.

Mr. Sunshine is set during the early 1900’s and is about the romance of a soldier (Lee Byung Hun) and an aristocrat’s daughter (Kim Tae Ri). It follows the story of the soldier who got on a U.S. military expedition as a child and grew up in America. As an adult, he then returns to Korea as a soldier during the final years of the Joseon era. It comes from writer Kim Eun Sook of hits such as Goblin and Descendants of the Sun.

Mr. Sunshine airs Saturday and Sunday on tvN.

Mr. Sunshine is one of my favorite dramas at the moment. But I simply skipped through ep. 17 because it felt as if it was drawn out and nothing but a filler……nothing new just boring.

I was going to watch this drama because I found some beautiful songs from it’s OST. Still will check it out though. Also Kay, I have nominated you for an award on my blog!

I’m thinking: two more weeks, three at the most, and then I will start this one. First want to finish Voice. But been a bit busy the past few days 😊😊
