Lee Se Young in Talks to Star in Korean Drama “Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King”

Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King Korean Drama - Lee Se Young

Oooh, I like this development. Lee Se Young (Hwayugi) has been offered a lead role in the drama remake of the hit movie Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King (or The Queen’s Man). This is the drama that also has an offer out to Yeo Jin Goo (Reunited Worlds) to star in dual roles as a King and a clown.

Lee Se Young would be the Queen who finds herself in a love triangle with the two men. I had never pictured Lee Se Young with Yeo Jin Goo, but I think I like it! I always enjoy her in dramas and would like seeing this pairing with one of my favorite actors. I really hope this all comes together!

Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King follows the story of a king who fears for his life so he brings in a kind look-a-like clown to stand in for him. A love triangle will also ensue between the two and the Queen. It comes from the PD of Money Flower.

Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King is looking to air in early 2019 on tvN.

  1. OMG I would love to see Lee Se Young as a lead in a drama!

I’ve never watched the movie… Have you seen it Kay?

Me too! She’s always great. Loved her in Hwayugi and The Best Hit. I haven’t seen it. I’m debating whether I want to watch it first or not. If Yeo Jin Goo and Lee Se Young sign on, I’ll probably hold off on it since I want to just enjoy them in the roles. But if others end up in it, I’ll probably be more inclined to check out the move first 🙂
