Mr. Sunshine Korean Drama - Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Ri

After a record breaking premiere last week, the tvN drama Mr. Sunshine starring Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Ri continued to impress in its second week in Nielsen drama ratings.

It was able to top 10% by bringing in 10.1% for episode 3 on Saturday and then increased to 10.6% for episode 4 on Sunday. So we’ve already got a couple solid achievements for the drama and it’s just getting started!

Mr. Sunshine is set during the early 1900’s and is about the romance of a soldier (Lee Byung Hun) of the righteous army and an aristocrat’s daughter (Kim Tae Ri). It follows the story of the soldier who got on a U.S. military expedition as a child and grew up in America. As an adult, he then returns to Korea as a soldier during the final years of the Joseon era. It comes from writer Kim Eun Sook of hits such as Goblin and Descendants of the Sun.

Mr. Sunshine airs Saturday and Sunday on tvN.

Oh wow! It’s coming up quick for you. I can’t wait to hear you tell me how awesome it is and make me jealous since I won’t be watching it yet, lol 😉

Haha…I will try to keep my enthusiasm to a bare minimum. Maybe I will just say it’s a bad show lol 😂😂

Oh don’t do that! I was serious about the part where I said I can’t wait for you to tell me how awesome it is and joking about the jealous part. Well, I will be jealous, but that will happen regardless since EVERYONE will be talking about it. So I want you to share your enthusiasm as it just gets me more excited! 🙂

Haha…I was of course just joking. I will probably be able to see it on friday, so I will let you know what I think of it around that time 😊😊 I’m really looking forward to the series as it really looks amazing 😀

I was hoping so, but sometimes it’s hard to be sure when reading text, so I wanted to be sure 🙂

Oh my! Just watched the trailer. Epic. Goblin-level of production. I will be expecting impressive OSTs and cinematography. And I LOVE history. I feel heartbreak just learning that the setting is during the final years of an empire (Joseon). So the setting is a big bonus for me. September needs to come earlier.

Yep, pretty much everything you expect is what is being reported so far 🙂 Apparently, everything is top notch. And I’m with you, September needs to get her faster so I can jump into this epic drama!
