Eulachacha Waikiki Korean Drama - Kim Jung Hyun, Lee Yi Kyung, Son Seung Won, Jung In Sun, Go Won Hee

Now this has me excited! A second season of the comedy drama Eulachacha Waikiki (also known as Laughter in Waikiki or Go Go Waikiki) has been announced! The drama is still just in the early planning stages at this point with no word on air dates or casting.

Eulachacha Waikiki aired earlier this year on JTBC and starred Kim Jung Hyun, Lee Yi Kyung, Son Seung Won, Jung In Sun, Go Won Hee, and Lee Joo Woo. It was about three men that ran a guesthouse who got involved with a single mother and her baby.

I said that this was a drama that I would love to have a second season for since I could just keep watching the quirky and hilarious characters get into trouble over and over. So a season 2 of this drama is fantastic news! Of course, I so hope that they are able to get the original cast back. It just needs to be that way!

But in the case they go for a spin off, as long as they bring back the same writer, I will still be pretty happy since I find his combination of comedy and fun characters wonderful. So I would still expect an entertaining group in a second season. Still rooting for the original cast though, especially the absolutely hilarious Lee Yi Kyung. Please get him back! For now though, we will have to wait for more news on this exciting development.

Like you, I could watch this group forever. Then again, maybe if they had a new cast, then we could find more new actors/actresses who were as good as the original. Will be at the top of my list!

Yes, this group was so entertaining, and I really do hope we get them back. But I agree, a new group could be fun. Either way, it’s on the top of my list too! 🙂

I’m actually glad, because the last few episodes just lost the spark and I couldn’t get behind the storyline. I really did feel that the addition of the extra episodes could have just been put off for the 2nd season. So I’m excited for this. Also, I’m glad that they pick and choose shows to get 2nd seasons and essentially finish off the series in the first season, instead of dragging it like they do back in the west. It gets annoying.

Yeah, I’m glad they are a little more choosy too. Western shows almost all have to have a second season which is bad when the show leaves you with a cliffhanger and gets canceled (which so many do!). And even the ones that make it to the second season usually fizzle out pretty quick 😛 I thought this drama would be perfect for a second season because of it’s format, being a comedy, and not being heavily plot driven. I was one who didn’t feel the episode extension at all and just wanted it to keep going on and on. It was just so much fun, hehe. So I’m super excited to see what they do with a season 2 🙂

I wish they would at least just think about endings when they create these shows here in America. It doesn’t have to have a bow on it.

Oh I know what you mean. But American shows pretty much always go for the season 2 play and determine they have to end very open, introduce a new problem, or on a cliff hanger to garner interest. It’s all about that hoped for next season. No thought giving any closure to the story or even just making it somewhat wrapped up with just a possibility for a new season. Like you said, it doesn’t have to tie a bow on the ending, but tie it up a bit. It’s something really bugs me since they go and cancel so many shows 😛

So happy to hear this! Hope the cast remains about the same, not sure how I’d feel about another group – their chemistry was so perfect!

I know, I was so excited when I saw this! I wanted a second season but wasn’t very hopeful for one. I too really want the cast back. But since I loved the other ensemble cast from this writer’s other drama Modern Farmer, I would still be very hopeful for another fun and endearing group if they had to do new characters. But for now, let’s hope the original group comes back!
