Vagabond Korean Drama - Lee Seung GiVagabond Korean Drama - Suzy

Lee Seung Gi (Hwayugi) and Suzy (While You Were Sleeping) will be reuniting! We finally have official confirmations in for them to star in the new thriller drama Vagabond. Lee Seung Gi will play a stunt man with Suzy as a NIS agent. They join the already confirmed Shin Sung Rok (Return) who will play a NIS director.

I’m absolutely thrilled to see these two reunite after last starring together in the fantasy historical Gu Family Book. Vagabond is being described as a blockbuster drama of large scale mixing action, thrills, melodrama, and humor with plans to film in multiple countries.

This will certainly be a fun one to watch take shape. And with such a solid group of actors, writers, and directors, I really hope we manage to get an exciting and entertaining drama all around.

Vagabond tells the story of an stunt man (Lee Seung Gi) who ends up in the midst of political intrigue as he tries to expose national corruption during a plane crash investigation with the help of a NIS agent (Suzy). It comes from the PD of Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim and the writers of Monster and Empress Ki.

Vagabond is looking to air in late 2018 or early 2019.

“blockbuster drama of large scale mixing action, thrills, melodrama, and humor with plans to film in multiple countries” – That there is already making me veeeeery wary. The description spells “a hot mess” in my book. 😜

Awww, that description is music to my ears, lol. Some of the best dramas are ones that mix all of those genres to perfection (keeping in mind that like any drama it simply comes down to execution). And the PD and writers are quite good. Although this seems different in terms of plot, since I recently watched Swallow the Sun, it made me think of it. It was a blockbuster filmed in multiple countries while mixing genres, though a bit heavier on the action melo. I certainly wouldn’t mind a modern day replication of that 🙂

Well, I’m hard to please, ya know. 😀 I could name a number of dramas that were more like “busted” than “blockbusters”, LOL! Kdramas seldom manage to do a genre mix to my liking. Besides their action dramas tend to be all blindig surface ‘bling’ and no real content. Annnnd I hate overblown makjang. I believe it’s safe to say that Korean “blockbusters” ain’t generally for me. 🙂

That you are, lol 😉 But I guess with any drama, all we can hope for is for it to suit our personal tastes. And if it doesn’t, luckily there’s always dozens of other dramas to choose from at any given time 🙂

Oh yes, I don’t spend too much time with shows that don’t suit me. That’s a waste of time. But it is always nice when a drama turns out to be better than expected.

I’ve loved these two since Gu Family Book! It could be the continuation to the story that we all wished for.

Same here! I loved both Lee Seung Gi and Suzy so much in Gu Family Book, so a reunion is more than welcome. And I know what you mean, hopefully this drama can give us that feeling of continuation that many of us wanted 🙂
