Voice 2 Korean Drama - Lee Jin Wook

It looks like Lee Jin Wook (Return) is being courted to star in the second season of the hit OCN crime thriller Voice. He would play a new character who comes in to lead the Golden Time team.

Voice was about workers at a 112 emergency call center who had family members murdered by a serial killer. While on the hunt for the killer, a “Golden Time” team was established to rescue crime victims in the golden window of time before they were likely to be killed.

I did enjoy Voice, but it had quite a few issues. So I don’t know that I will be tuning back in if Jang Hyuk won’t be involved. I’ll reserve my judgment until we get more info and see some trailers though.

Voice 2 is looking to air in the second half of 2018 on OCN.

I didn’t like S1 at all. Too much gratuitous violence combined with shoddy police work was just a turnoff for me and I generally like cop shows and thrillers. I probably won’t bother with this one either. I just don’t have the time anymore, so I need to be ruthless when it comes to choosing what I’ll watch. 😁

Oh I agree on the violence! That was the most violent kdrama I have ever watched, and it was way more than I care for. And I really didn’t like the flat characters. It was good for some thrills, but it had a lot of problems. So the second season would really have to wow me with the promotional materials to reel me back in. So I understand you being selective. You might as well be watching something you enjoy 🙂

Just a question as a fan of the drama. It’s been a while since I finished the drama and obviously can’t wait for the 2nd season. But what were those small issues you mentioned in your post?

Apart from that it is true that the ending was pretty left open for me. The story had it’s ending set out pretty good, but it was weird and shocking. I wonder how they will cover up the whole bond between the previous main characters.

Hi Vahide! I enjoyed Voice, but it did definitely have some issues for me. The worst was that the characters were extremely one dimensional with little growth which made them difficult to connect with. I also thought the thrill factor that was there in the beginning lost its steam as it became more of a traditional detective drama. But even then, it had it’s good points. I also liked the ending 🙂

I too am interested to see how they work the relationships in the new season. It always adds a bit of a different dynamic with cast changes and frequently previous characters just get a passing mention. I’m sure Lee Jin Wook and Lee Ha Na will be great though 🙂
