Asadal Korean Drama - Song Joong Ki

Historical drama alert! A new drama is in the works called Asadal, and it has an offer to star out to Song Joong Ki (Descendants of the Sun). Asadal comes from the writers of Six Flying Dragons and Tree With Deep Roots and from the PD of Nice Guy (Innocent Man).

This would be Song Joong Ki’s first drama since he starred in the mega hit Descendants of the Sun in 2016. I’m certainly anxious to see him back in a drama again. And one thing we know from these writers, it will be an epic historical! Also, my favorite part of Tree With Deep Roots were the first few episodes that Song Joong Ki was in. So maybe we can recreate some more of that drama magic if he accepts!

Asadal is planning to be pre-produced and is looking to air in early 2019.

I so hope he accepts this role!! It’s been far too long since DOTS and a historical drama would be perfect! Have you started watching Grand Prince yet?

  I really do too! I agree, it’s been too long since we’ve him in a drama. And we have to make up for this historical drought we’ve been in, lol. I’m waiting for more eps of Grand Prince to be out before I start it. The wait is terrible though! I NEED a historical, hehe 🙂

    Lol I haven’t started watching Grand Prince either for that reason! Historical dramas always are the biggest emotional roller coasters so I need plenty episodes out to binge hehe I’m watching Radio Romance and just started The Good Witch right now!

I have mixed feelings on this. I don’t really watch historical dramas, but I do know how good he was in Tree With Deep Roots and Sungkwankyung? Scandal. And I just really want him to be back on the screen.

  Aww, yeah, that’s too bad if you don’t really like historical dramas as much. But he is definitely good in historicals! My only concern is that this pair of writers have a lot of 50+ episode dramas. Tree With Deep Roots was one of the shorter ones, lol. So who knows what kind of episode count we will get. But I certainly want to tune in if he signs on!
