Life Korean Drama - Jo Seung Woo and Lee Dong Wook

Jo Seung Woo (Secret Forest) and Lee Dong Wook (Goblin: The Lonely and Great God) have been confirmed to be starring in the upcoming JTBC medical drama Life. Life is about a power struggle in the emergency center of a hospital. Lee Dong Wook will play a doctor with Jo Seung Woo as a chief director at the hospital. The drama comes from the writer of the hit drama Secret Forest.

Well, I perked up when I saw Lee Dong Wook, but then I quickly deflated when I saw this is yet another medical drama. I’ve just had my fill of them these days. I’ll definitely be rooting for success for Lee Dong Wook though!

Life is looking to air sometime in 2018 on JTBC.

Yup..//that was pretty much my reaction as well. Not another medical drama…Ugh….will pass on this one, unless the inevitable trailer will show something incredibly extraordinary 😂😂

There sure are a lot of them these days! A lot of people are really excited though since it comes from the Secret Forest writer as well as has one of the stars. But neither of those things was a plus for me either. So yeah, I will have to be absolutely wowed to give this a look, lol.

I’m excited for Dong Wooks comeback, but not for another medical drama. It’s becoming a trope, along with law shows. Then again, Secret Forest was a good drama.

I have been waiting for Lee Dong Wook’s comeback, so I’m disappointed to see it’s a medical drama. There really is such an abundance of them and legal dramas over the last year. Neither are genres I love. I didn’t make it through Secret Forest, but most people loved it. And if you liked it, maybe you’ll like this one too despite being another medical drama 🙂

Exactly my reaction. I saw “Lee Dong Wook” and “next project” in the title but was let down after reading the medical plot line. I absolutely love Lee Dong Wook (who doesn’t?) though so that in itself may force me to watch the first episode.

Yep, I was like Lee Dong Wook! Yay! Then I saw medical and went “Wah wah…” It would have to truly wow me from trailers to reviews for me to consider giving it a go. I typically have a one medical drama a year limit, lol.

I haven’t watched medical dramas in ages, ha. Loved FoS so I’m definitely going to take a look at this one too. Most korean medical dramas get bogged in the hospital politics (boring) or are just a backdrop for a romance (boring). 😁 I’m hoping this one has another take on things.

I make an an active effort to limit my medical dramas because it is my least favorite genre, lol. I can’t stand the abundant surgery scenes and yes, the boring hospital politics! I wouldn’t mind a heavy romance medical drama, but I honestly don’t think I’ve seen one where the romance overshadowed the medical aspect. But I do think for those who liked Secret Forest, this one could offer something more complex and different. So maybe you’ll be in luck 🙂
