We have casting confirmations of Woo Do Hwan (Mad Dog) and Red Velvet’s Joy (The Liar and His Lover) for the new MBC drama Great Seducer (previously known as Love Game: The Great Seduction).
Woo Do Hwan will play our womanizing chaebol heir who takes up a bet when he finds himself in a bad situation. Joy will be a woman who is respected and seen as a role model and becomes the target of Woo Do Hwan’s bet. I’m really hoping for some angsty goodness with this drama!
Great Seducer is an adaptation of the classic Korean film Untold Scandal and will move the story to modern day Seoul where a dangerous love game ensues. Previous adaptations involved a story of two rich elites who make a bet that if the one man can sleep with a virtuous woman he will then be allowed to sleep with the woman he really wants.
Great Seducer is looking to air in early 2018 on MBC.

Hmm this could be really fun and good. These are the kind of stories that can turn into some very nasty and highly entertaining dramas. Looking forward to this one 😀

Interested by the premise but think it could use a better Title.

It’s already been through a couple different titles, so maybe we will get another by the time it airs 🙂

I thought this was similar to Dangerous Liaisons or Cruel Intentions with the whole betting thing and the respectable girl. I am interested to see Woo Do Hwan in his first lead role. I loved him in his previous roles!

Well, Untold Scandal was based on Dangerous Liaisons, so… I’ve seen all the versions and didn’t really like any. Guess I just don’t like the story. Why I watched them all is still a mystery to me.😁

I did like Cruel Intentions back in the day. Been many years since I’ve seen it though. But I like this sort of soapy story line, so I see the potential for a nice angsty melodrama if they do it right 😉
