Eulachacha Waikiki Korean Drama - Lee Yi Kyung, Kim Jung Hyun, Son Seung Won

The upcoming JTBC drama Eulachacha Waikiki (also known as Laughter in Waikiki) has confirmed its main cast with Kim Jung Hyun (School 2017), Lee Yi Kyung (Go Back Couple), and Son Seung Won (Age of Youth 2) set to star.

Eulachacha Waikiki is a comedy about three men who decide to open a guesthouse to make money and get involved with a single mother and her baby. Kim Jung Hyun will play a cynical man who dreams of being a movie director. Lee Yi Kyung is an actor who is the son of a famous star but finds himself stuck in minor roles while Son Seung Won is a writer having a difficult time. The drama comes from the writer of Modern Farmer and the PD of Man to Man.

Modern Farmer happens to be one of my all time favorite dramas, and it is by far one of the funniest kdramas I have ever seen. So I am super excited to see the writer coming back with a project that is heavy on the comedy.

I absolutely loved the zany humor and wacky characters in Modern Farmer. And Eulachacha Waikiki has a similar setup with a bromance at the center and the opportunity for some entertaining characters to stay at the guesthouse. This drama will definitely be at the top of my viewing list in the coming months!

Eulachacha Waikiki is looking to air in February 2018 on JTBC.

I’ve never watched Modern Farmer so I’ll have to take your word that it’s good and hope for the best with this project.

Oh I have so much love Modern Farmer! It’s such an underrated drama that was completely zany with some seriously quirky characters (you kind of have to like the comedy style though). So I’m really hoping for more of the same with this drama 🙂

Even though I like the premise you describe here, this being a comedy I will in all likelyhood pass on this. But maybe a trailer for it will change my mind 😊

It is a fun premise with a good set up for heartwarming stories, but yes, it is described at a comedy. We will know more when we actually get to see the trailer though 🙂

Hi Kay, do you know if will be fillmed in Hawaii? thus the name waikiki?

Hi! I haven’t heard any reports of it being filmed in Hawaii. Apparently the name of the guesthouse is Waikiki, so maybe it’s Hawaii/tropical themed?
