Kdrama Kisses

Oh Yeon Seo (My Sassy Girl) is the latest to be offered a role in the upcoming Hong sisters drama Hwayugi. An offer is also still out to Lee Seung Gi (You’re All Surrounded) to star alongside her.

Hwayugi is a romantic comedy horror loosely based on the Chinese novel Journey to the West about the journey of a monk and four others to atone for their sins. The drama moves the story to the modern day where Lee Seung Gi would play the character based off of the trouble making Monkey King who was exiled to the human world without his powers because of his corruption. He seeks to restore them with the help of a materialistic monk who can unseal them. Oh Yeon Seo’s character would be based off of the monk.

I hadn’t ever pictured these two together, but I like it! They both have such fun personalities and wonderful comedic timing. I can already see the hilarity! I’m certainly hoping they both sign on.

Hwayugi is looking to air in December on tvN.
